As if a horror movie. A large bat creature flew in directly from the light of the moon. It hit the sands on the beach and became surrounded in a veil of darkness. One minute passed before the darkness went away revealing Treddir holding luggage case dressed in shorts that were probably too big for his frame with the drawstring pulled tight. He reached into the case and pulled out a shirt and slipped it on. He looked at the moon. "A beautiful night. And no smog." He sat down on top of his luggage and just gazed at the moon over the water. "One day, fourteen hours." He rehearsed to himself. "Sanctuary." He whispered. It was the first time he didn't need to hide much in a year. No one that would try to hurt him was around for hundreds of miles. "No vampire hunters." He sighed relief and smiled putting his hands behind his head. "I still don't get how they do it." Treddir started laughing and could not stop for several minutes until he thought of something. "What am I going to have to eat?" He looked back and saw the academy. In his experience, his most willing hosts would be women about his age and older. They were more ready to be bitten because of Hollywood, the glamor of being bitten. But the few gifted girls he ran into wouldn't have anything to do with it, except for one who had a sister who was a breed similar to his. "This might be a problem, I hope I don't have to start hunting," If it was one thing he hated, it was animal blood.

A small figure could possibly be made out running about the shore line. The figure seemed frantic and kept making small exasperated noises of frustration. Sidra had been looking around frantically for her younger brother. He had another nightmare and had gone running out once more in to the black of night. "One would think that a kid afraid of his own shadow would surly be afraid of the darkness.
Sidra let out a sigh as she came up to the other person on the beach. Sidra pulled her hair up out of her face and looked at him, she felt slightly embarrassed for the bright pink panther pajama bottoms that she was wearing pared with a lime green tank but covered over by an over -sized gray sweater. "Um, Hi!" she grinned at him, in the moon light she probably looked like she was glowing slightly due to the paleness of her skin. She noticed the suitcases and thought it was odd for a person to be coming to the islands at night. "your new.." she said in a short burst of breath motioning to the cases that the boy had. "I'm sid." She extended her hand to the boy in a friendly gesture.
Sidra waited a few moments before the boy wouldn't take her hand and stood up straight. "Um Sid is short for Sidra" she said as she took out a pack of smokes and pulled one out lighting it at it met her lips.

Promising. It was the first thing that went through his head. "Treddir." He shook her hand softly. She was dressed so nonchalantly, she was up beat. She would be the perfect source for sustenance tonight. "You're in such a hurry." He moved over on his oversized luggage. "Sit down, plenty of room on the suitcase for two." It was part of his plan. Win them over. Talk them into his charm. Let them know. Entice with the vampiric hype. Drink. She had a soft smell about her, the same reaction one would get from walking into a bakery. One of his favorite bloods. And then the blood of a gifted, the only one he had tasted like the most amazing sugar, he hoped this was common.

Sidra took a step back, scratching the back of her head to look at him. "you haven't seen a kid around here, have you?" she asked, 'Treddier, i wonder where his parents got that, who the hell am I to judge..' she thought to her self as she made a face at him with out realizing it. "Can i call you Tred? or does it have to be Treddier?" She took a drag from her cigarette. Sidra eyed the boy curiously and scratched her neck, " any way, the rush is the kid I'm trying to find." she gave a wide grin. "and because I am in a hurry why would you ask me to sit?"
This Treddier boy seemed curious, she knew that people warmed up to each other easily here. Possibly because of some strange form of mutual trust, but she was still unsure about this guy. "if i sit will you help me?" she asked him raising up one eyebrow.

Treddir shrugged. "I just would ask you to sit because it looks like your worn out. I mean, I can't imagine the smoke helps you run longer." He started playing the nonchalant role. He realized he may had gotten too friendly. "And sorry no one has come through. Look at the sand, it too perfect." It truly was. No foot prints besides hers and the massive ones from when he landed as the beast. "So running in all this sand is a vain effort, no?" He tapped the suitcase. "Maybe your instinct is just that good, so who ever it is might come running this way some time soon." He cracked his neck left then right. The monster form always left him feeling stiff. "Oh and my real name is Charles, you can call me Charlie if you want, thats what people back home used to call me." Back home, that was something he hadn't thought about in a while.

Sidra gave a grin and then shrugged. "Yeah, yeah, your right." She put the cigarette back in her mouth as she sat down. Sidra made a face as she took one last drag before tossing it in to the sand. She let out a laugh and looked at him "Charlie, ha, that's really cute I have to say, I like the name Charlie" she began mumbling "Free man" she said referencing the meaning of his name. "Old English, very nice."
She watched him pop his neck, and it sent shivers up her spine, the noise always has. "back home, so Charlie where is it that you come from? and what brings you here on this lovely moon light night?" she grinned.

"I come from the south west United States. I can't put a name to a city since I've been gone. Its taken me a year to get here, I had to travel mostly by foot going through back allies the entire way at night. Too many people hunt my kind." Treddir pondered. He flashed his canines for a moment. "We don't have the best of reputations. Sorta like certain dogs. One dog to ruin the breed. Of course, I was that dog at first." He chuckled. Treddir found the bit of irony in down talking savage vampires that attract enough attention that they bring out hunters despite having a few bounties on his head, one being from his home town. No deaths but enough bites to leave a small trail. "So the day time is never really good for me and my travels."

Sidra watched him as he spoke, "What the hell is a vampire doin' in a place that's mostly Desert?" she blurted out. Her black eyes gave a funny glint. "And we are comparing vampires to pit bulls too? Okidoky, I can hit that." Sidra's shoulders slumped forward as her head bit over to the side, more in a pondering manner. "So...Do you burn up..like in flames or any thing?"
Sidra kicked the sand a bit as her eyes rolled over to the large monserious foot prints in the sand. "In south America, it was either the Aztecs or the Mayans that had a massive blood sucking Bat creature that would turn in to a human to hide its true nature. There were priest that would worship it as a god too, bringing it virgin's blood." Sidra instantly covered her mouth. "I'm Sorry! I blurt things out at times I didn't mean any disrespect!"

Treddir laughed "Its fine its fine. Actually a city in the desert is the best place to be a lone vampire, no one expects you. So its using a bad idea to make a good idea. And no I don't burn in the sun, it just makes me feel like I just ran a marathon and back." He stood up to stretch his legs. "And me, I'm not something that transforms to a vampire human. I am a vampire that transforms into a monster. If I want to.....or if I don't drink blood enough." He mentioned the blood. Now time to lure her in. "And yet, I do actually drink the blood of humans. Some breeds of vampire hurt when they bite, mine only hurts a very little bit and makes you feel all warm and fuzzy. I can't tell you how many times people wanted me to do it again." Treddir laughed. He remembered the time he stayed in a city for two nights and an obsessed girl came back looking for more. So he bit and drank no blood, didn't want to kill the poor obsessed thing.

Sidra looked at him confused, "It's....two massive sized kanine insizers pearceing in to skin about an inch or so deep, how does that NOT hurt?" Her hands were in the air in an exasperated manner. they then flew down on the sute case with a thud as she looked at him. "Do you like, glamor people? you know make them in to zombies?" Sidra was getting far too interested in his way of feeding.
Sidra looked at the sand and then back and Charlie. She pursed her lips together in thought. "Why are you telling me this?" she asked looking up at him with her black eyes reflecting the stars and moon of the night sky. Sidra could feel her pulse raising as well, but she wasn't sure if it was fear, excitement or just from running. "I wanna see you turn in to a monster!" finally burst from her almost too excitedly.

Treddir laughed again. Her innocence to the matter was cute. She was perfect for it. "Well my breed can't turn anyone until we have been a vampire for seventy years. I still got a long ways to go." He sighed. "But if you want, I can show you the beast. Just brace yourself it is pretty scary." Treddir pulled off his shirt. "Here I go." His eyes flicker to black and he started to grow in height, muscles, fur, claws, ears, and wings. He roared as the transformation finished. He looked down at her with teeth that were so large they were like giant icicles in the moon light. "This is the monster." He said in a deep guttural voice. He squatted down and began to transform back. Treddir collapsed onto his luggage. "If I don't do that a whole lot, its easy, but I just did that a few minutes ago." He picked himself up and sat on the suit case. "So." He panted, "Could I show you how the fangs feel? I do kinda need a little drink after that. I won't put them all in, just enough to break the skin. You'll barely feel a thing, and then you will start to feel really good. I do this all the time, scouts honor." He smiled very cheesy to show he was joking yet honest. He hoped it would be enough to convince her to let him take a drink. He was pretty hungry now.

Sidra mocked his movements when he said 'scouts honor' holding up the three fingered sign. She was still bewildered from his monster form and didn't much hear of what he said about feeding. "Your beautiful! No like really really Beautiful! that was crazy!" Sidra patted his head and beamed up at him. "Awsome!"She was kinda on cloud nine at the moment.
It was a moment or two before she registered what Charlie had asked of her. "Wait! What...." she opened her mouth, held up her hands and made finger fangs. "Om-nom...um well....I...don't...know.." She scratched the back of her head and looked at him, well she studied and assessed the situation. "You need it don't you?" Sidra sighed. "Ok..."

Treddir smiled. "Great." He positioned himself sitting behind her. "Maybe I should make it dark so no one thinks I'm trying to kill you." A black veil dome went over them. "No just relax." He put his teeth to her shoulder and pierced the skin slightly, just enough to break it, but far enough to let the venom go in. He took his teeth out and began sucking the blood that was coming out. At this time the venom would take effect, first numbing the area, then working its way to the brain, calming the entire body and putting her into a blissful state of mind. He stopped drinking for a moment. "How are you doing there?" He asked. Treddir always felt it was a good idea to make sure the venom took hold and made them at ease. "Let me know if you start to get dizzy."

Sidra tensed slightly at first, but soon felt nothing. Once she began to relax it started hitting her head and her whole body went lax. She gave a laugh and leaned her head back on to his shoulder. "How'd it get darker?" she asked in a lazy speech of the south. She felt that her accent would soon kick in.
Sidra started giggling uncontrollably "Its like Those them there Vamp'r bats. I mean, Y'all take one bite and lick the blood right outta theere. This feels crazy..." she said as she wiggled her arms slightly. She turned her head and nipped and pulled lightly at his ear. When she let go she laughed, "Now you'r gonna tuurn' intoa Sid monster too!"

Treddir licked the wound and pulled away, the blood began to clot instantly. It was as good as he thought, and very filling as far as most bloods compared to. He wiped the excess from his lips. The darkness vanished. Treddir helped Sid off of his shoulder and to try to help her sit upright. "Sidra, your blood is pretty tasty. Since we will both be here a long time, I might stop by for a bite in a couple weeks." He licked her shoulder again to get a droplet that escaped the clotting wound. He felt very strong. It was now very clear that gifted blood was more of a potent source that normal humans blood, the same way that human blood was far more satisfying than animal blood. "Thank you," He said. True gratification showed on his face. Anyone that let him feed was always admired. Over twenty-five hours without eating still was not easy as a vampire. He inspected the wound again, to be sure it was clotted up. One hadn't fully yet. "Better try to close this up." He licked the wound again, hoping the venom would encourage clotting more. This time it clotted instantly. "Good. No one is bleeding out tonight."

She could feel the texture of his tongue against her skin, it was like velvet. The sensation made shivers down her back "Soft.." Sidra gave Charlie a derpy grin, "No more blood. teahhah(a slurred tada)" she said as she felt the scabs on her shoulder. "That was weird. It was all....you know?" She made an exasperated motion, unsure of the words she could use for the situation. Her body rolled over till her stomach and chest was touching her thighs and her hands hit the sand. She let out a light sound that could be a hum or a sigh.
She was quiet for a few moments as she looked out over the ocean. "Drugged food... Hey! question. Do you have hollowed out fangs kinda like venomous snakes? They arn't solid like mammals'?" She sat straight back up with her hand propped to her chin and looked at him for a long while. "You sir are a bad ass" she started a giggle fit.

"No I think my venom is in my saliva." Treddir began checking his teeth for holes. None. "Not that I'm spitting on you." He laughed. She was one of the more entertaining hosts he had. She not only got loopy, but acted completely drunk. "Now you know about me, what about you? What are you doing here? Where are you from? Since you know so much about me now..." He was curious. Treddir could only imagine the kind of place this girl would be from. She was obviously a spaz in any state of mind. "And who is it exactly who you are looking for?"

Sidra blinked and smiled at him, she probably resembled a wide faced frog at this point of the looseness but she didn't seem to mind. "Well. Let's See, I'm from Kentucky," she stated pointing her finger at him. "I tend to get a hick drawl some times with out thinking, i have a motorcycle and like to race them." Her head felt heavy, and her body felt warm but it was beginning to wear off. "I'ma Star, and I grant wishes! oh and i can do this..." she said as she lifted out her arms and began to shine like a billion stars were clustered under her skin. "And im looking for Jubil" she forgot to give any more context than that.

Treddir moved back the second that she shone. He was suddenly out of breath. "Too much light that close to me." He started to recover. "Starlight, that close....its like the sun." He continued to back away, looking more and more sickly as if he were about to throw up. His skin was greyer now that it was before and his eyes black as the darkness around him. A wall of darkness appeared between them and Treddir started to catch his breath. His skin regained pigment. His eyes cooled down to their normal color. "Okay, that was not fun." He stood up and kept the darkness between them. "Its that UV stuff, stars and the sun both give it off, but the sun is so much closer I don't feel the stars....normally."

Sidra quickly stood up and stopped glowing. "Oh! I'm sorry! I wasn't thinking, the venom..makes my head heavy.." she said slowly taking a step to him before falling to her knees in front of him. "I'ma sorry Charlie" she said scratching her head, "Are you ok? ask for a wish, any wish I wanna make it up to you...I'm sorry" she kept mumbling in slurred speech. Her black eyes shone in the darkness like that of a wild animal, but it showed her disrepair easily. She tugged lightly on his shorts as her head bowed to the ground, it was spinning. "I'm drunker than a skunk ain't I ?"

"Well you grant wishes huh?" Treddir said. He shook his head to try to straighten his vision. "Well then I wish your body returned to the state it was in before I sucked your blood. Blood, wound, and venom." He needed another drink like a man after a rough day at work. It would replenish him greatly. Feeding twice in one hour, it was almost unheard of for him. He would normally be afraid to hurt the person, but if he didn't have to worry about their blood loss or too much venom then he could do it with an easy mind. "Assuming thats a wish you can grant of course." Treddir asked. He had only encountered seven gifted people his entire way to the academy over the year. Three turned out to be hostile, the extent of gifts where completely out of his knowledge base.

Sidra gave a nod, "Yeah, I can do that." she smiled as she sat down, with her back against his suit case. She closed her eyes and let out a sigh and then took in a deep breath. Her head was beginning to feel normal and her body wasn't as warm or limp feeling as before. She let out a groan and opened her eyes, "That was weird, do people normally react like that to your venom? Oh and you have Four Wishes after that one" she smiled to him. Sidra gave out a stretch and then pulled down her sweater and exposed her neck and shoulder more. "See no more scab right? I'm sorry that I hurt you, i think i was high or something, my judgement on things arn't very good." she laughed looking up at him, Sidra sat there with her legs open and her arms propped on either knee. She felt small and vulnerable in this position.

"Usually no, most people just get really giggly. But they usually give into what Hollywood makes my kind appear to be. Romantic, alluring, seductive. Meanwhile most of us are hungry and need something to eat since solid foods don't fill us up and blood is the only thing to go off." Treddir looked at her repaired neck. "The second time isn't usually as bad." He licked his lips once, remembering the taste. Such a sweet delicious blood. Full bodied, energizing, perfectly metallic. He could almost call it a slight craving. Without knowing what he was doing he was inching closer and closer to her. Wanting to take a bite. "Yes." He whispered under his breath. His eyes fixated on her neck. A look of glory in his eyes. "Um, I'm going to need another drink after that, the sunlight, it is like taking a few days without feeding." He lied. He just wanted it again.

Sidra looked at him with her black eyes, she was giving him a concerned face. She watched how his eyes shone in the darkness how his fangs seemed to grow from the hunger. She pushed back in to the suit case and felt a twinge in her stomach to run. Sidra dug her toes in to the sand and continued to stare at him. She didn't give him an answer the only thing that she could muster up was a small humming sound from the back of her throat that made her face turn redder than a tomato. When she heard to sound she quickly covered her mouth in embarrassment and looked away from him, exposing her neck to Charlie once more.

There it was the opportunity. She left it open for him. This was the first time he had felt so animalistic just after recently feeding. He went in from the front of her this time. He held her as if to embrace her. He then sunk his fangs into her neck. The venom went directly in and he started to drink her blood. The sweetness and the thickness was unbelievably tasty and succulent. This time, he didn't stop, he couldn't suck blood very quickly but he showed no signs of wanting to stop this time, not even to check to see if she was okay. He was focused on drinking the sweet red nectar.
