She half-grinned at his almost embarrassed appearance. She shook her head at the way he gave away characters and plots or whatever it was he was referring to. "No problem." She said.
She didn't even have to consider his offer. looking down at the crumbs of spice left on her own place. "Seconds? Yes. Opinions?..." She considered the episode for a moment that she had just witnessed. Very ... "It's kind of funny." She said finally. She blinked for a moment then shook her head, "The plot's really out there though. I mean, if I was a time traveller, what reason would I have to call myself the doctor? I mean really? How up himself must the guy be." She laughed, thinking about it from a different perspective. Of course she had only seen an episode so didn't fully understand the show yet. Give it time.

Jacob smiled wryly, collected Ace's plate, and stood up. "I suspect because Doctor is such a universal and necessary occupation that it opens rather more doors for him than he could otherwise. Go ahead and start the next episode, I'll make something light for you."
He returned to the kitchen, and rather than try to cook again, sliced the last piece of salmon up and threw together a quick salad under it, which he added a dash of persimmon to, in order to compliment the cool, rich, and nutritious palate of salmon, royal carrot, and lettuce.
"Done, just something quick." he called, and carried the plate back into the living room.

Ace clicked the icon beside the one that had been previously highlighted twice and proceeded to click the triangular play button. No problem. This was easier than she had thought. "Either that or he's full of it." She retorted with a laugh.
He took her plate and she continued watching. The blanket of the futon that they had been sitting on, Ace quickly brought up around herself. It was getting to be darker and darker outside the windows.
He brought her a salad, and Ace picked at the leaves with an odd expession. "The hell? You're giving me vegetables? This may float with some people, but..." She picked at the salmon around the veg. Occasionally she might pick at a carrot and give it a try, only to put back half of it back into the plate. "I have taste buds, ya know..."
Sighing, she placed the half-eaten plate on the floor, "I'm full anyway... It was good food." She said as her way of thanking him for the meal. She curled herself into the couch, having stolen the blanket, and though her eyes stayed on the screen of the laptop, her eyelids steadily grew heavier and heavier. Eventually she simply faded off into sleep in her corner of the couch.
In her sleep, Ace mumbled things- 'apologize' coming in to it quite frequently. Her expression would tense up at certain parts like she was bracing herself, but then she would once again be calm, mumbling something about an 'annoying obsessive...' something while all snug...

Jacob watched Ace fade off with a faint smile, and snuck the laptop off of Ace's lap, then took a pillow from the girl's bed and, with decades of practice, placed it stealthily against the side of the couch she would eventually lean on in her sleep. He stole back the plate and wrapped the salad to eat another day, and washed the plates himself.
All that done, he glanced at the slumbering girl once more, smiled, and slipped into his own bed, turning out the light.
