Gabrielle looked at Creda, utterly confused. What the fuck was she doing standing there like she was going to knock his head off?
Oh, right.
Because a guy having a freak out was so damn threatening and knocking him out would really help here.
She shook her head at Creda over Rust’s shoulder and mouthed “No. He knows.” She paused, and then added “Stop that.”
Then she went back to comforting Rust as best as she could.

Rust just stayed there for a very long time, only dimly aware that Gabrielle was hugging him and that another unknown girl was standing behind him.
Everything was jumbled up...he didn't know anymore what was right and what wasn't. Secernia was a good/bad person and Kikime was a bad/good person and his mom loved him but didn't care for him and DEAR GOD WOULD HIS HEAD STOP ACHIN-
Clarity.
Sudden Clarity.
Rust opened his eyes, going limp for a moment. Then, the AA summoned itself over his shoulder... followed by sparks of blue light over his left shoulder.
"...let me go."

Gabrielle didn’t let him go, but she didn’t tighten her grip either. She tried to ignore the Astral Arm, and found it surprisingly easy. She just couldn't imagine Rust doing something like that.
“No.” She said firmly, “If you run off now, then you’re going to get hurt or mindfucked again. And, Rust, you’re the only damn chance we have of knowing how she does it. If you go now, then she’ll know we’re onto her and we won’t have any idea how she works.”
She stroked his hair, trying to be soothing. “You’ll get vengeance, I promise. But we need you to stay and tell us, or at least one of us here will die.”

"Gabrielle, let me go right the hell now or..."
Or what?... She's only trying to help... You have no idea what's going on. You won't unless you calm down...
10, 9, 8, 7...
The AA clenched and unclenched, nearly glowing white, the blue was shining that brightly.
Creda moved ever so slightly closer, fist trembling with anticipation.
"BACK OFF!" Rust roared, swinging his head round and AA firing out. Reacting instantly, the raven haired girl prepared to block the incoming blow...but it never came. Rust had instead pulled it short, mentally straining himself again if the small yelp indicated anything. Nevertheless, Creda backed off slightly.
"...I need help..."

Gabrielle reached out to the AA, trying to physically help hold it back, but very, very carefully. She didn’t want to spook him but it wouldn’t be a good idea to let him punch Creda either.
“You’re fine, you’re fine.” She murmured. Shit, what did the therapist always say? Maybe Gabrielle should have listened to the whiny bitch a couple of times, at least enough to get an idea of what to say.
“Just relax.” She tried, “Just breathe. Um... clear your head. No one’s going to do anything, Creda’s here to help.

Eventually, Rust's breathing slowed down slightly and the teen seemed a bit calmer. Bit by bit, the AA disappeared, only a pale blue haze remaining where it had previously been.
Creda, to her credit, had backed off, giving Rust space. It was not her that would get the boy through this. He had to decide that for himself. Or rather, Fate would decide whether or not he would be a valuable ally.
We do require some sort of advantage however. And that power...
Ever since the AA had been up close and personal in her face, there was no mistaking it.
Rust's power was nearly the exact same as her guardian's Gift. Obviously weaker and a differing colour, but the fundamentals were practically identical.
Perhaps another worthy ally? We shall see in time...
Rust, meanwhile, just stood up, Gabrielle hanging off of him slightly still. He continued to breathe as Secernia's betrayal continued to whack away at his gut. He felt like an idiot, but at the same time...
Who's to say which is right?...I need answers... SHE has them.
"If she touches you, she gains one of your secrets." Rust muttered, a far cry from his normal laid back self and even compared to his regular fountain of rage, this was an altogether different beast. "And if she asks you anything...well, she asked me who hurt Alora and all of a sudden, I'm on the beach puking my guts out."
He turned, Gabrielle STILL holding on.
"...who's this?"
Creda raised an eyebrow.
"Creda Shields. Yourself?"
"Rust Kekise. Mind moving? I have a few questions for a certain girlfriend."
Rust didn't notice Creda pale and blanch entirely at the mention of his name.

“Gains a secret?” Gabrielle said, alarmed. She looked to Creda. “We need to contact Jacob, tell him that one, and about how she does the memory thing.”
She snorted. “And I thought the teleportation made her a cheating bitch.”
She watched the weird little introduction between Rust and Creda, though she missed Creda’s strange reaction as Gabrielle had just realised she was still holding onto Rust, quite closely. She let go of him promptly and stepped away, completely not reluctantly.
“Okay. We need an actual plan.” She said, straightening up. She picked at her clothes as she said, “We can’t just do full out assault, or she’ll just go teleport away.”
Something occurred to her. She turned to Rust.
“Uh, by the way, if you see Rags? Don’t hurt him.”
She gestured to her clothing. “This was Kikime, not him. I didn’t want to say it was her in case she told Secernia, so I panicked and then Jacob had mentioned Rags, so... Yeah. Sorry.”

"I'll go." Creda said instantly, not wanting to compromise herself any more than necessary. "They were looking for this 'Sidra' girl, correct? I shall go render aid should it be required. If not, I shall just observe until I am needed."
Walking towards the door, blood still blossoming over her back, Creda looked over her shoulder at both Gabrielle and Rust.
"Do not fail. We cannot afford to lose anyone at this critical juncture. May Fate guide you well."
She walked through the door and as soon as she was out of sight, fell to her knees, biting her lip and holding her shoulder. Her back and shoulder were still on fire and it was only now that she allowed herself to show the pain. Screwing her eyes shut for another moment, Creda took a deep breath.
When she opened them, her face was once again impassive, and she took off, determined to find Jacob before Secernia altered his Fate as well.
Rust just watched Creda leave, then looked back at Gabrielle, face impassive, but some feelings of rage still bubbling beneath the surface.
"...you tricked me to get me to go round to your way of thinking." he muttered, not quite looking at Gabrielle. More silence followed before he turned on his heel and went for the door himself.
"She said she had a demon sealed inside her too." he said curtly. "Maybe that boosts her or something, I don't know. Hell, I don't even know which way of thinking is right, right now. I need answers more than anything and I'm clearly not going to get them here shooting the breeze like nothing's wrong."
Something's missing here...what am I forgetting?!
Then the answer came and his eyes widened.
".....we need to find Alora. And fast."

Gabrielle nodded. “Yeah, Sidra ceelysomething... I think there’s a dorm registry somewhere, check in that and it’ll tell you. Watch out though, Kikime might have told Secernia about you.
She winced at Rust’s words. She couldn’t tell if he was angry or not, but she could tell he was damn hurt.
“I know... I panicked.” She said, aware of just how weak that sounded. ” I was just... I was scared that she’d twig and then someone would get hurt. That you’d start fighting to help her and then we’d end up hurting you.”
She sighed. “Chew me out for it later, I deserve it.”
The next thing he said got her attention. Alora. Shit.
“Hold on a second.” She said. She grabbed one of the prescription pads and scribbled ‘Jacob - Can’t stay here. Left with Rust –G’ and her phone number underneath then tore off the top page and left it on the desk for Jacob, held down by a paperweight.
“Just in case.”

"Save it."
Those two words spoke more than an entire angry rant could. Wisps of blue energy still hovering around Rust's right and left shoulders, the Brit marched towards the door and walked round it, barely giving Gabrielle a glance backwards.
"Alora's in Dormitory 1. Dunno who her roommate is, but whoever they are deserves to be shot for letting this go on for as long as it has."
Organic fists clenching until the knuckles were white, Rust's speaking tone was, conversely, more calm and collected than anything heard before.
"We haven't got a lot of time."
