Whistling and spinning a brand new shiny key around his finger, Rust Kekise wandered down the mostly silent hallway. Sure, you could hear other people moving about elsewhere in their dorms or in the building, but right now, there was no one in sight. Just as well, really. It'd be weird to explain why he had a ghostly bright blue clawed arm dragging a suitcase behind him as he hefted his gym bag of clothing.
Yes, it was a mundane utility. But it was also as useful as hell.
The paper work was done, the names had been signed and now he was an official member of the Solstice Academy, starting as soon as he was able.
Hooray. Whoo. Ticker tape parade. he mentally snarked. He was still completely wiped out from the constant travelling, so getting to his dorm and crashing for the evening seemed like the best idea. Admittedly, he'd found a few new, well if not friends yet, then acquaintances, in Gabrielle and Ace, but more social stuff could come tomorrow. Hell, might even be later tonight, the dorms were two to one room and they were even co-ed!
Finally finding number 9, he stopped whirling the key around his finger and inserted into the lock, pushing the door open. Inside, there was a bog standard living room, carpet flooring with a coffee table and rug in the middle. Near the wall was a three seater leather couch and opposite this was an entertainment unit with a decently sized TV already installed. A kitchen counter separated the living room from the admittedly small kitchen area, which had all the basics with a tiled floor. Fridge, freezer, drawers, cupboards, job done.
Having a walk round, the teen found two bedrooms (both the same size, so no point in just jacking the biggest one as was his previous plan), which were just one wardrobe, one chest of drawers, a smaller TV (that had been a surprise), an office desk, lamp and most importantly...
BED!
Falling face first onto the soft mattress, Rust just lay there, enjoying the first proper lie down he'd had in days. At sea or on a plane, there had been way too much turbulence or bobbing but here? Completely still.
Forcing himself up before he fell asleep in a nap, the Astral Arm's glow good for keeping him awake, Rust continued to look around. Apart from a decent bathroom, that was pretty much it. It was very student-y, but hell, it suited him just fine. He had a roof, a bed and a place to hook up his games console. He was set.
Let the unpacking commence.
Suitcase opened by the Arm and bag opened by himself, Rust got to work packing his things away in his room. He'd left the door to the dorm open, just in case the next entrant to number 9 would be along soon.
