The sheets twisted around the girl as she tried to rest with the blaring music down the hall. She sat up and sighed; giving up on her dreamy endeavor. She rose from her mussed up bed and changed out of her pajamas into a rose adorned, white baby doll dress. Her cotton pink and snowy white hair hung messily around her shoulders and face as it draped down to her lower back.
She rubbed her eyes when she opened the door to the hallway and made her way across to the noisy room. Her eyes caught the door was slightly ajar and she stormed up for a moment before her ears caught the lyrics. She stopped with her hand on the door and- painfully -listened. She creaked the door open a little more so she could look in. Her heart beat from her throat when she saw Ayne lounging on his bed.
Gosh, I'm terrible... peering into a boy's room... she thought while her cheeks turned a rosy pink. She knew it was wrong to intrude on another while they were in the confines of their room, so she knocked the door.

Despite of how loud the music saw playing, Ayne (Barely) heard the knock on his open door. He looked up and saw Ku. He then grabbed the remote to the miniature stereo and paused the music. "Sorry, didn't think anyone was asleep yet." He said as he sat up and put his knife down.

Ku's soft blue eyes shot down quickly and she stammered out her words, "It-It's ok... It's only 6:00..." she said with a ssmall forced smile. She was trying to make herself seem silly for trying to sleep that early, even though when she was at home she would go to sleep at 5:30. She fiddled with the rim of her dress as her ears stopped ringing. She looked back up at him with her soft eyes and gave a small smile, "What... Were you listening to?" she asked, standing awkwardly in the doorway, slightly pigeon-toed with the rim of her dress in her hand as she slightly leaned to the left, "I've never heard music like that before..." she said with the lyrics still quietly echoing in her mind.

Ayne grinned. "I was listening to music that seems to make people question the listener's motives. In other words, metal" He said. "I feel that Metal is a misunderstood genre of music, 'cause people find it as 'Devil's Music, only because of all the screaming and growling. But if others took the time to listen to it, they'll realized its not all about the devil." Ayne finished.

Ku went to curl her bangs around her ear but noticed her hair was a terrible mess and she just let her hand fall. Her cheek's pink hue faded a bit and she leaned against the door jam, "It sounds... Different, I guess." she said with a little chuckle, "Like I said, I have never heard that kind of music before...I don't think it sounded like it had anything to do with the Devil." Her slender fingers reached up and covered her mouth lazily as a small yawn escaped her lips and a sleepy tear sat on her eyelashes. "Sorry...I dunno why I'm so tired..." she lied with a little smile.

"I guess it is different." Ayne said. He paused, "But where are my manners, please come in. Take a seat if you wish." Ayne offered. He grabbed his remote again and switched it to a more pleasant and slower song

A soft countenance of surprise struck Ku. She felt her heart beat from her ribcage, and was sure he could hear it, and with that thought her face flushed pink again. I'm about to...be in a boy's room... alone with him.... She looked down and watched her foot ease through the doorway. After she stepped into the room she felt a bit flustered, but tried to keep it hidden. She stepped over and sat on the edge of his bed at the foot. She listened to the music as she sat there fiddling her fingers, head down and pink cheeked.

She appears to be very nervous. Never been in someone else's room before? No, most likely never been in a 'Boy's' room before. What to do. Maybe find a way to make her feel comfortable? Question remains, how to do so? This thought passed him by on repeat for a few seconds. "Are you okay?" Ayne asked.

Ku's heart pounded when he talked to her and she nodded with cutely stuttered words, "Y-Yea. I'm okay." she choked out with a nervous smile. She looked at him with the same smile, "I'm just... I've never been alone with a boy before." she said with a little laugh "Mama always said something bad would happen if I was ever left alone with a boy and no chaperone." she blushed bright red, "I like your music... It has... Feeling." she noted. "It's a lot different than orchestral music." at this point her fingers softly tapped her knee with the beat.

"Thank you." Ayne said when Ku commented his music. "I guess your mother had no trust in anything, if she were to shelter you this heavily." He said. "I understand where she's coming from about being alone with boys. Almost all of them have no self-control. They give guys like me a bad name."

"You're right... Mama didn't really trust anything... Not even Papa." Ku pursed her lips, "Not even me after i made her that rose..." She looked solemn for a moment, but remembered she was a guest and brightened up, "Sorry. Just... reminiscing." She gave him a false, but sincere looking, smile. "Why... Were you sent here? Were you forced?" she asked quietly, hoping she hadn't asked a sore question.

"No." Ayne started, "I needed to get away from everyone who wanted me to be their 'correct fortune teller', I was the only one with powers within a great distance. I guess I wasn't subtle enough about using them." He said. "I figured it was time for me to be around others like me. Sort of like me."

"I guess we're more alike than I thought. I didn't use my power frugally, and Mama wanted me just locked in the cellar...But Papa... He can do things too, and he understood how I felt and sent me here." she placed her hand on her mouth and looked down, "I-I'm sorry. I shouldn't have interrupted..." she said quietly through her fingers, "I should have waited for you to address me." she said and turned away slightly, embarrassed that she had forgotten her manners, "Gosh, Mama was right, bad things do happen without a chaperone."

"Heh, I guess the definition of 'Bad' is different between you and I." Ayne said. "And you didn't interrupt, I was finished. I think we can all stand to be a little less formal than we usually are." He finished then thought to himself, Considering I am nowhere near 'Formal'

Ku looked to her feet, "I guess that's what's really wrong with me..." she smirked, something rare to see on her face, "I don't really know how everything works out here.... Think about being raised in the French Restoration era, talking to only 3 boys in your whole life, and being nearly beaten to follow exact directions." She looked at him, "I guess that would be more like 3 girls if you're a boy..." she said with a soft smile, not depicting her voice in any way but she considered his first comment, "What worse could happen than forgetting manners?"

Ayne thought for a moment. "There isn't anything bad about being less formal, you only have to keep it to the bare minimums when out in public." He said, "Say; Please, and Thank you. Saying, 'excuse me' after burping...." Ayne said. "And now I realize that that wasn't the best example for a final comment." His voice trailed off a little, "As for 'Forgetting your manners', I think it varies in all people."

"Hm." Ku pursed her lips, "So, I can stand to be less formal..." She noted aloud, "Being Casual is about being comfortable, right?" she asked and paused. She thought for a moment about how she could seem more comfortable to him and she fell back on his bed with a bounce, something she wouldn't have even done on her own bed. She sighed and smiled as her back stretched out and popped on her final descent to the mattress. "At least, that's what I've gathered from seeing the people here..." She turned her head to look at Ayne, "Especially you." she said with a small grin.

Ayne grinned back. "'If you live by other people's expectations, your life is no longer your own'. I live by these words, and try to encourage others to do so as well. Don't let people live their lives through who they know." He said. "You learn a lot about yourself once you take a moment to do so." Ayne tried to make himself more comfortable, he wanted to twirl his knife, but Ku would have distracted him and one of them could end up hurt.

Ku settled into his bed and thought about his words, I'll take some time later... She peered over at him with shimmering eyes and a petite smile, "I suppose you've thought about yourself a lot." she assumed and noticed he wasn't as...Laid back. She furrowed her brow slightly and asked with a voice that was clear as a bell chime, "Where's that little trinket you're always spinning?"

Ayne answered her question, "Its my knife that I used to get the splinter out of your foot when we first met." He told her. "I am very anxious so twirling it keeps me calm. I can keep it under mild control, like now, but when I'm at a new place or with a big crowd of people, thats when I want to the most."

A petite smile drew across her soft pink lips as a reassured feeling swept over her like a wave, swallowing her uneasiness. She looked to her feet and gently rubbed a fresh bruise on her left food with her right. Taking in the feeling of a pressed bruise, which was rather lovely to her. Her thoughts traced to her lessons for a moment but quickly derailed and came back to here and now. She crossed her fingers over each other and tapped the back of her left hand with her right index finger, " Does that mean...Since you're not twirling it now... Does that mean you're not anxious?" she asked with a slightly widening smile.

Ayne paused and without realizing, raised his eyebrows. The Next Song Started up. Tone of voice, seems too innocent to be played so well. Does she yearn for something? Uncertain. Other men would take advantage of that. No, no. Stop thinking that way. Possibly over complicating a straight forward question, taking all of her words out of context. "No. I guess I'm not." He said

Ku's look softened, a genuine smile stood on her face as her eyes seemed to deepen. "That.. Makes me very happy, Ayne." she said softly. The Lyrics from the song began sounding and she looked at the stereo, "This music..." she stood still as a Statuette, listening to the music silently. "This... Is amazing." she looked at him with a tear sitting on her bottom eyelashes. Her mouth hung slightly agape as she listened to the song. "What is this song? It's amazing." she said softly, thinking about how some of this actually applied to her.

"Its called 'The Unforgiven', part II." Ayne said. "All three parts of the song have powerful meanings to them, they helped me get through some tough times, as a lot of my favorite songs have. Some people listen to music just because 'It sounds cool', but if they took a moment to listen to the lyrics, or listen to the instruments, they'd really understand what music does for all of us." Ayne paused then added, "Good music anyways, not all this 'Rap' shit, 'cause all they do is talk about exploiting women, getting money, and doing drugs."
