Syron fell down out of his portal he had taken from the school. He was aiming for the Headmaster's office, but he had missed horribly. He had gripped Ace's hand and tried to reposition as he fell to the ground that she would land on top of him to cushion her fall. What he didn't expect was that he would pull her onto his belly face to face, causing him to gain a bit of pink in his cheek. He had the wind knocked out of him from the portal which had now vanished, the fall, and her landing on him.
He moved her off of him gently and stood up. "Sorry Ace. I missed." He looked all around. Complete jungle. "The worst part is, we are on the other island." He figured this out by seeing through the top of the jungle trees and the ripples in the thin clouds over a mile away. "This must be the Perdu Island."
He offered her a hand down to Ace. This was despite that she had not done that same from him the last time he was on the ground after his previous portal.

Ace fell through the vortex, landing on something somewhat soft, and after the initial shock of finding herself in an entirely different environment, she found that she had landed on top of Syron. She rolled herself off and stood up quickly, indignant. Although she felt like getting angry with him for it, she realized that in this situation it hadn't really been his fault, and so had to suck it up.
"... Perdu Island?..." She turned around and looked at the jungle before her, dark trees and strange sounds called to her. She bit her lip. "Oh fuck." She said. Julia turned to where he was looking, towards the other island. "Shit... Let's portal back! You don't need to charge it or anything do you? This place... creeps the shit out of me..." She admitted, glancing back at the jungle. She felt eyes on her back and couldn't help but double take the jungle every few minutes. She refused, however, to admit that their landing in the wrong place was her fault...

Syron watched her worried face. He turned around and rolled his eyes. He created an energy ball and let it float out like it did before. It expanded into a door. "There we go." The door then flickered and collapsed. The energy dispersed. "Or...not." He turned back to look at her. "We are gonna have to be here a while. I guess there is a charge up thing."
"I really thought I had it too." He looked back up at the sky that poked through the trees. They had many hours before that sunlight vanished, but he wanted to be out long before then. He looked at her again. Was this girl really scared? The place was a bit freaky, trees as far as they could see, very quiet except for the rustle of leaves in the breeze. "Ace do you want me to make you feel a bit better?" He figured that he would rather get her permission before he did anything with his voice considering her reaction last time. He expected her to take too much pride and dismiss his question, but it was worth asking.

Ace watched his portal creation with hopeful eyes... and then it flickered and failed. Julia let out a sigh of annoyance. "Perfect!" She exasperated. "What're we going to do now?!" She demanded, fed up. She started to pace back and forth, trying to think of something to do. "How long will it take ya think?" She asked, eventually just sitting down on the ground.
The sound coming from the jungle continued to startle her. "Fucking wilderness.." She commented, taking off her bag and digging through it's contents. "I have 3 bags of Doritos, and I plan on rationing them." She said to him as if they were stuck on this island for ages. The metal of the gun caught the light, as did the plastic of her tonnes of cigarettes and the glass from the whiskey bottle.
She pulled the whiskey out with a contented sigh as she sat on the ground. "I don't need your power, I have an old friend." She gave a half-grin just like Wills, not that he would be able to compare, and took off the cap. She took a slug, feeling the liquor burn her throat and warm her. "Sit down!" She said to him, "Unless you want to go hunting for dinner or something," She laughed. "Surely your power won't take too long..." Her head suddenly turned quickly back to the jungle, and she felt as though eyes were watching her from inside.
"Perdu Island... " She repeated again, "What's up with this place anyway..." She asked him because he seemed to know more about it than she did anyway- at least he had the name. Out of politeness, she passed the bottle of whiskey to him for a taste. "Helps your nerves." She told him.

Syron took the bottle and sat down. He took a small chug, the amount being less than half a shot, but he made it look like more. The burn down the throat felt good. It obviously wasn't the expensive stuff he liked. It was the best part about the thief life. He passed the bottle back to her with a long, "Aaah. Good stuff." He said. Though on the inside he thought about now if something really was here, he would have to protect a drunken girl.
"I really don't know anything about here, except that I didn't want to come here. From what I know this place is uninhabited. No buildings. Nothing. Just jungle." He said as he looked around. He felt as if he were waiting for something like a growl or a big ruffle of leaves, but there was nothing just eerie silence. He looked back at her. Syron hoped Ace wasn't one of those drunks that just got more paranoid as they drank.

Ace hadn't any intention on getting drunk, just relaxing a bit. She took the bottle he had returned to her and lifted it to her lips again, allowing the sensation to roll across her tongue and down her throat. The bottle tilted down and she rested it between them, in case he wanted any more. Julia tilted her head back and looked at the blue sky, the tropical birds squawking pointlessly down at them.
"Just jungle, eh?" She pursed her lips for a moment in thought. "Uninhabited.. Well why hasn't the school expanded out here? It's a small boat-ride. I'd say maybe two hours, most, by ferry... Hell, the money I paid to enroll, they should be able to afford it!" She exclaimed, feeling the school was swindling her, and just trying to lighten the mood in general. "Perfectly good land too, if they only cut down some of the jungle, leveled it, throw in some concrete, it'd be a home away from home!" She shook her head as though it was a shame that it hasn't been done. "There's probably enough space for a small town here..."
She felt a gust of wind suddenly roll into her from around the wild overgrowth, and she clutched her arms, feeling the cold. It was as if this island was angry at her for suggesting such a thing. Her hair was tossed wildly, and she felt goosebumps pop up all over her. "Damn, the weather's crazy!" She commented with a half-hearted laugh, feeling a chill down her spine. She slowly reached down and took another swig of whiskey for good measure.
Taking a stand, Julia said, "I think we need to find somewhere safer than this... If there's no buildings, then we need to at least get to the beach or something, right?" She wrapped her arms around herself, the whiskey bottle in her hand pressed against her side, her bag on her back. "I still don't have a great feeling about this place..."

Ace did have a point. Why would the school not expand upon an island they must have been aware of? "Maybe its good for situations like this. Training or whatnot." He shrugged. This island was completely barren of life besides the trees and plants though. No powers affected the environment as far as he could tell. Then again he was next to a great source of it that could be clouding his judgement.
"But I guess your right. We should head out." He held out his arm and energy flicked into a thin blade around his arm. "Lets go, stick close..." He looked around with the same eerie feeling she must have had. He began stepping into the forest and using the energy to slice at the bushes and leaves in front of him like a machete.
That very first few slashes into the immediate brush revealed a massive clearing with a pyramid like stone structure, hidden by a canopy of leaves by the surrounding trees. "Woooooah." He stood there with his mouth agape. He was taken in by the sight. Not to mention there was a bit more energy coming from the area now that he was a few feet away from Ace. "Remember that eerie feeling? Thats why."
Still there remained no sounds coming from the area besides the random breeze rolling through trees. But the feeling of being watched seemed amplified. Syron held the blade of energy toward his chest defensively as if he were compelled like exploring and ready to defend himself.

Ace followed him with uncertainty, feeling defenseless. She pulled off her bag and unzipped it in a few small motions, putting back the whiskey and taking out the pistol, sliding it into the side of her jeans, having no holster or anything for it. Don't worry, safety was on. There, much better. She thought at having means to now protect herself, in case anything did pop out and attack them.
As he slashed at the wild growth, Julia could no longer hear the sounds of the birds, like they all had gotten out of there. Did they feel it too, she wondered. She immediately felt ridiculous for even thinking such a thing. She turned her head back ahead of her.
There, in front of her, was a random pyramid. Her eyes went wide, her eyebrows raised in shock. "That's not what I expected!" She admitted, almost laughing at the look of the thing. She observed it from a distance at first. She hadn't energy powers, but she could still feel some kind of force emanating from the stones. "I thought you said there weren't any buildings here... This looks man-made to me." She shook her head, and took a deep breath in and out, to steady herself.
Slowly, She approached the pyramid. "Interesting.." She said, a little half-grin forming on her face as her curiosity got the better of her. She felt as though the longer she stared at the pyramid, the longer it would stare back. "This place is full of secrets, huh..." She smirked, trying to act brave in the face of something truly unnerving.

The pyramid was really memorizing the energy he felt was not only emitting, but it felt like it was pulling. "This is a really weird pyramid. Watch this." Syron held his palm toward the structure and an energy ball formed. It immediately started to float toward the pyramid, "That isn't me making it move." The energy ball vanished.
That eerie feeling had grown exponentially. "I'm starting to think that maybe you were right to feel a little freaked out." The energy blades on his arms had flickered out to conserve himself. He figured in a time of need it would be better to be able to use his powers.
"So its up to you. Want to check this place out? Or are we feeling not too lucky today?" He meant it as a challenge, but at the same time he wanted to gauge her reaction. She was a daredevil by nature as far as he knew, but maybe the inner feminine qualities would come out in the face of this hidden pyramid and the feeling they shared about the island itself.

Ace watched Syron's energy orb float over on it's merry way towards the pyramid. I really doubt that he isn't making that move himself. It's not like I could tell the difference if he was. She thought to herself. "Uh huh..." She said, in disbelief.
She was already within reaching distance of the pyramid now, looking at it with more and more curiosity. Gazing at it for a moment she responded, "Ya, why not. In case you haven't noticed, I feel lucky constantly, I can't exactly help it." She smirked.
The only inner feminine qualities Ace had were her organs. Perhaps his inner masculine qualities would cause Syron to show stereotypical strength and macho-ness in the face of such eerie dangers. However, Ace didn't think this was likely. "So, how do you get in?" She laughed, "Is there a secret password? Open Sesame!" She cried, trying to lighten the situation.

Syron walked up to the pyramid very slowly. Tension built in his mind. What would happen if he touched it? Would it open? Would something attack him? Would it explode? Would he be killed? What about her, could she really defend herself against something unexpected? Yet the pull from the pyramid compelled him to keep going. He reached out his hand about a foot away from a flat wall that was carved to look like a door. "Alright then here goes nothing," He said as squinted and touched the pyramid. Nothing happened.
He moved his hand away from the stone. "Okay, this is gonna be even weirder, but the energy isn't the pyramid, its inside the pyramid." He touched the door again and pushed. The rock creaked and grinded, then finally began moving slowly as if on an old hinge.
When it was finally open all that could be seen was blackness. The energy pull was definitely more potent now with the door open. He let another energy ball go in. It illuminated every crack as it floated into the darkness. "No traps?" He looked back at Ace. He pulled the energy ball back to him and held onto it tightly. "This will show us how to get there, it seems safe."

Julia turned to Syron as he pushed open the now-obvious door. She took a step back, watching to see what might happen to him as he stepped inside. She wondered the very same thing he had been wondering. What's in there. The cold metal at her hip was very reassuring, and she found herself placing her hand on it's grip.
"Syron..." She began, "How are we gonna get off this island?" She paused in thought. There were many ways, surely, though none of them involved this pyramid... Unless it had an even bigger surprise inside of course. Though, there were obvious dangers.
Then, Julia thought, So what if we go into the pyramid, the door shuts, floor gives in, and we're impaled on spikes at the bottom of a long drop. It's not as if anyone would look for me. She realized her death would hardly be a great loss to the world. At this, she casually followed Syron into the darkness within the pyramid, no longer hesitant.
"Maybe some secret passage way? If we're lucky.." She gave a half-grin. "It's a long shot in the dark, but... Soto and Perdu could be connected by, I don't know, some mysterious tunnel?"
Ace began looking around the chamber lit up by the orb of energy. She could make out a down step, and another, and another, leading deeper into the dark pyramid's depths.
"Careful," She said more to herself than to him, "There could easily be traps you don't know about further inside..." She closed her eyes for a moment and visualized easy sailing through the labyrinth she assumed was somewhere in the darkness beyond. After all, a labyrinth would only be appropriate. Opening her eyes, Julia walked past Syron. Both of their faces seemed to morph as the light source moved, light now falling on different parts of their faces, flickering a bluish white. She placed her foot on the first step, then the second, moving downwards into the pyramid.
As she went down the stairs, she placed one hand softly against the wall, her palm rubbing past the rough stones to keep her balance, as there was no railing. It was no wonder her hands were kind of calloused.
Until about two-thirds the way down, Ace had been methodically placing one foot after another, looking at the odd designs etched into the walls by it's previous inhabitants. Then, she placed her foot on nothing. Her knee almost gave way to it, and Julia gasped, slipping, nearly falling off the stairs, but ended up just sitting on the step instead. Her heart was beating a million miles an hour, she would have sworn. She turned her attention downwards and saw as Syron's energy came closer that the steps the rest of the way down were destroyed.
"There's a gap here..." She said, captain obvious in shallow breath, regaining composure. After a moment of thought she turned to her companion, with a growing grin on her face.
"If we jump down, we'll be fine, but we probably won't be able to climb back up." She told him. "So, you feeling lucky? Lucky enough to risk your life?" She dared him with her words, reversing his question he had given her, testing his resolve.
"You know, we may never leave this place- Die, rot, be eaten by rats, and no one would ever know about it." She gestured at the darkness below. "But then, if we do survive... The treasure, knowledge, thrill..." Daring and brash laughter escaped the girl. She turned away from Syron and made the jump without hesitation.
"Follow me if you have the balls to!" She called up to him. The air down there was stale and dusty, making her words sound hoarse, echoing around the large chamber. Julia grinned with excitement and adrenalin. She began walking deeper into the unknown. "I bet this is the right way to go.." She said softly to herself, pushing her luck.

Syron conjured energy up and made it flatten into a platform, he stepped down and rode it like an elevator down to Ace. It vanished as he touched ground. He could feel the air, they were in a large room. He could especially tell by the acoustics of Ace's walking and words. "Wait don't move." He grabbed her shoulder to halt her to a stop. "We need a little more light, something doesn't feel right about this place now."
It was the energy it seemed way stronger than it was before. Syron felt like he could be in contact with the energy source at any second. He created a ball and gripped it tight, when he opened his hand there were lots of miniature sized bits of energy glowing brightly. He threw them outward and they scattered across the massive room.
It looked like a stadium. They didn't miss a step before, it was the end to what seemed to be the seating for the stadium, they were in the pit, standing on one end where there was a platform a very thin bridge to the other side where another platform was. Surrounding them was a massive spiked floor. "Well you were right about the spikes." When he looked down Ace was one step from falling. "Guess you really are lucky."
Syron looked astounded by these ruins. And then a glimmer caught his eye. At the center of the bridge was a circular small platform, on it was a small golden chain connected to a ruby colored stone, cut like a diamond. "Thats it. We aren't in a tomb that is for protecting, this is some sort of arena for a sport, I can't see this place being booby trapped." He began walking across the bridge. It wasn't a tightrope or a balance beam, but being shoved could cause someone to fall into spikes.
Syron reached the necklace and picked it up. He looked around to be sure he was correct about traps, but nothing happened. The energy he felt from this necklace was amazing. "Its weird, so much energy but I can't absorb any." He put it around his neck and felt a rush. He wasn't sure it was from the necklace or if it was the thrill of finding it.
"Wanna try it on? It would probably look better on you anyway." He took it off with a bit of a resentment that he would not be holding it for a moment.

Ace blinked. Well, again, something obvious happened. Of course Syron could just use an elevator of energy, why didn't she think of that? Feeling his hand on her shoulder, she was just about to turn around and lecture him once more on personal space, when the energy began to light up the room. "Oh..." She looked down at the spikes about two inches away from her feet. "Damn," She said, giving a whistle, "Would you look at that..." She hadn't mentioned the part about the spikes aloud, so looked at him curiously when he mentioned it, but quickly forgot about it.
She tilted her head downwards to look at the spikes. They were as long and sharp as they must have been when this arena was in use. There was dark red rust on some of the spikes, and, now that she thought about it, that stale and dusty air didn't smell too good at all. Tattered remnants clung to some spikes, and this gave her shivers. Her eyes wandered across the moat of spikes until her gaze found the skeletons. It seemed as though some of them were piled close together, as if they had been tidied away to make room for more. Why not just take the bodies out? Why just leave them there? This thought worried her greatly, and her eyebrows furrowed in concern. A warning, maybe?
"Well, the sport must have been 'race to the necklace and try not to die', huh?" She looked at the horrible spikes, "there were obviously a lot of losers." She said darkly. Her eyes drifted towards the necklace in the middle. "You can't see this place being booby trapped? Well then, what the hell is a piece of jewelry doing down here all neatly awaiting us? If anything should scream 'trap', I'd say this is probably it." She observed.
Turning, she saw Syron was walking across a very Indiana Jones-esque bridge to the obviously-cursed necklace. In childhood, Julia didn't watch a lot of TV or movies, and she wasn't ever really able to read to any standard past a half-learned alphabet. Still, even without seeing classic adventures and knowing their tropes, she couldn't deny there was something eerie about that necklace... Julia sighed and followed him across the bridge regardless. She would rather not get too far away from her method of escape in this place. Then, he offered the necklace to her to try on. She had been surprised that nothing had shot poisonous darts at them yet.
"Me? Wear a necklace?" She took the jeweled thing out of his hands and held it up with her needle-scarred arms to see it catch the light, and slowly brought it around her neck, clasping it at the back. "What a tacky, gaudy thing..." She commented, thinking for a moment, looking down at the jewel. If there was an effect from it, it obviously took a moment to kick in, though she did feel quite a thrill in knowing that they were stealing it. Well... She was stealing it. His share didn't cross her mind. "I think I'll take it though. Who knows, If that rock is real, I could get a great price for it." She smirked, "Even if it isn't, I'm sure some people won't know that." She added with a sly grin. She began to try undo the clasp so she might put it in her pocket as she spoke, but her fingers were fumbling with it. Ace wasn't ever very good at these things.
"The hell? Stupid jewelry..." She ended up bringing the necklace chain around so she might deal with it easier, but before she could get a grip on the clasp, she heard something. Perhaps it was just her nerves acting up again, but her head turned with speed to the direction from which the sound was made. It was like a bellowing hiss, the acoustics of the room caused the sound to echo, almost shaking the arena with it's intensity.
Julia turned to Syron for a moment and her expression matched her words. "What the hell was that?" She left the necklace on for now, having forgotten about her efforts to take it off. Ace put her hand on her gun once more, her palms sweaty. Oh my good ol' gun. You're so comforting.
"Hows your portal power doing... If something huge and freaky tries to eat us, think you can save our asses anytime soon?" She wondered, her eyes alert. Standing in the center of the arena, with a random guy who can't use his powers properly, surrounded by spikes and a rickety bridge, inside a mysterious pyramid, on an uninhabited island, in the bermuda triangle... This is ridiculous! What could I have done to deserve this?!... ..Oh yeah.

Syron jumped at the sudden sound. There was no way that was the sound of old ruins there had to be something alive around them. Luckily for him, she was making everything lucky. "Alright here goes nothing," Syron said. He created a new portal, a door of light. "Aweso...." The door dissipated into nothingness again. "Fuck!" He roared.
He looked back at Ace, she was obviously just as scared as he was, but for both their sake he wouldn't show it. "You hold onto it for now. It will get in my way if I hold it, but if you do I'll be more mobile to fight...anything." The sounds seemed a bit louder and closer, but Syron could not pick up any energies when standing next to Ace and the necklace. "We are going to have to leave the very same way we came in."
Syron created an energy ball, it flattened to make an elevator platform as before, large enough for the two of them. He picked her up and put her on. Fairly light, then again as a child of the streets he couldn't imagine that there would be much to her. He then climbed on. "Okay..." He said with a strained voice. The weight of both of them was a bit intense on his powers. He floated them over to where they first entered the arena. He withdrew all the energy balls that lit it up once they hit the stairs. He helped her off the elevator and then withdrew that into a single energy ball for light. "Lets go." The energy ball lead the way. Syron made Ace walk in front of him. "If something gets to you, we are both screwed, and I won't see an attack from behind."

Ace was mildly surprised at Syron shouting the profanity, but secretly dittoed his exclamation. Fuck was right. Ace chewed on her tongue lightly with her molars, thinking of possible methods of, if not escape, defense. Of course. His portal had to fail again. She sarcasmed inwardly.
She herself had been too preoccupied looking around for where the source of the loud hissing might come from. So much so in fact that she had only given a nod, nearly without thought, at him suggesting they leave the way they came. She was surprised when Syron presumably picked up how off-focus she was and dragged her to the stairs again. "Hey-" She began in outrage.
Then he went and picked her up, as though she were an invalid incapable of lifting herself onto the energy-elevator. "What do you think you're-" She continued, never really reaching a conclusion to her sentence when he interrupted her with a 'let's go'. She felt a scowl grow on her face at this, but was more than persuaded to take his offer to walk in front.
She did so easily, double, sometimes triple taking the steps. Was it just her, she wondered, or had the patterns on the wall changed from when they had first gone into the chamber? Something seemed different about them, almost as if they had moved, and were lightly glowing a crystalline blue. She shook her head as she raced up the steps, figuring she must be seeing things. This wasn't the time to be thinking, she figured, this was time to act.
When she had reached the top of the steps, she felt out of breath with the adrenalin and significant amount of exertion. Despite her dire need of a cigarette around now, she forced herself to keep going, taking a look to see if Syron had followed her up okay. Back in the arena, in the darkness now lit by the glowing walls, Ace could make out a large. dark shape behind Syron, crawling towards them. It certainly hadn't seemed human to Ace.
"GET THE FUCK OUT!" She cried, suddenly feeling a surge around her chest as the ruby seemed to respond. She turned back to pull her slower peer out by the front of his shirt. No sooner had she made the demand and Syron had been pulled out, did the stairs to the ruin disappear into blackness, and the hissing stopped. Where the stairs had been now lay only sandy stone floor.
In the pyramid's front room, Julia could see the jungle's mossy visage ahead of her, late-afternoon sunlight streaming in through the opened doorway. She felt fear in the pit of her stomach. The sun may set. It won't be long now until night comes.
"Holy mother-fucking shit." She said, panting. Julia grabbed the portal-maker by the arm and dragged him out of the pyramid as quickly as possible, "We need to get. OFF. of Perdu." She demanded, "Did you see that thing?! It was right behind you!!" Her eyes were wide with fear as she waded through the growth of tropical trees, pulling him along. "That's it." She announced, "We're going to die. We. Are all. Going. To die."

Syron sighed his eyes flashed the words 'extremely lucky' shot through his mind. "Sorry Ace. But I've needed to do this." Syron was trying to throw her power into complete overdrive. He ran faster than her now. A portal opened up in front on them. He pulled hard and dragged her through with him before the portal could vanish.
They stumbled through and were right outside the jungle at the edge of water. No sounds followed them, only the sound of the portal. He fell back and laid down. His eyes flashed normal. "Look," He pointed across the water, "Looks like Solstice to me." He deactivated the feeling, hoping she didn't realize that he did it or that she wouldn't have any harsh feelings for doing that to save their life.
"That was lucky, but I know if I can see a place, its a far easier portal." He created another to prove it and it didn't vanish, in the distance on the beach of the other island a bright light was suddenly shining. "But that last one, that was tough. I don't know how the first time missed so bad, but we got it this time. I think thats the funny thing about chances, there is never a one hundred percent." He took a deep breath and jumped up.
"Trust me. This time I really have this." He went near the portal and held out his hand to her. "And lets face it, we faced death....probably, but that was the most fun I've had in a while and hey, free jewelery." He pointed to the large ruby around her neck.

Ace wondered what he was talking about when he apologized. She hadn't heard the words this time. Her mind had been too preoccupied with them being lost in the jungle and running out of Doritos, only to be devoured by horrifying creatures while on the brink of starvation, and other unpleasant things.
Then he said it. Extremely lucky. Yes. Julia had almost forgotten about her power. Like a hope that shines in the darkest hours, There would always be her Luck. A light in her blackest days, she would always just have to try and try again, and luck would pull her through. It was the reason that she was still alive, after all. Not just after the crawling beast, but after all the heists, the car accident, the overdose. The only thing that kept her heart beating was Chance at this stage. Chance, she remembered suddenly, was the one thing that she had in bucket-loads, and could count on. She had nothing to fear.
As they ran, things around them seemed to change. It was as if the trees had grown to be out of their way, the paths clear. No stray root would be anywhere near their feet as they ran, chances of tripping or running into anything were down to perhaps 5-6% maximum. Ace's luck seemed to effect all around her, as though it branched out from her very being to touch her surroundings with it's influence.
Her face changed from bleak to bright, suddenly once more feeling the thrill of a good run. That was pretty exciting She thought to herself, I'm so lucky to still be alive in this place A satisfied smirk grew on her face. She'd done it. Luck had done it. The portal had opened. She jumped through it after Syron, the thought of why he wasn't able to do it before completely gone from her mind due to his power.
She'd landed on her feet at the beach on the other side of the portal, feet digging into the sand with her knees bent slightly so not to fall over. Julia stood at the edge of the sands, straightening herself as water washed at the soles of her old runners. She gave a smile of confidence as the portal opened to the other island, and looked out to the flash. "Ya, sure does look like it." She smirked. He was lucky she didn't notice it was him that messed with her emotions again.
His power slowly dissipated from her, and the burst of luck she had had began to decrease. It had however left her in a much better mood than she had been a few minutes ago. She let out a contented sigh as she gazed between the portal and the other island, laughing lightly at the whole thing as she recalled the last few hours.
"Ha ha, Yeah, I won't be forgetting that adventure anytime soon." She admitted with a half-grin. She pulled out her bag and took out her opened pack of smokes, lighting one with the lighter from her pocket. "That's what makes luck interesting anyway, it's always a surprise." She took a long grateful puff of her cigarette after saying this, feeling whole and content.
Julia took a glance at her new necklace, "Yep. Hope the rock's real, be easier to sell that way." She grinned. Now that she had the time and her hands weren't all sweaty with fear and nerves, she took the clasp and undid it easily in the bright sunlight. She slipped it into her pocket and approached the portal.
Before going into the thing she turned to Syron. "When we get back..." She began, "... This never happened. Trying to explain how we wound up in an underground arena being chased by a monster thing? Not a believable story. Besides," She continued, "People'd probably assume things. So, hush. Agreed?" She put the cig to her lips and inhaled sweet nicotine once more, far more chilled than she was only minutes before.
Assuming that he would agree with her, she grabbed his hand and stepped through the portal, eager to return to the main island. Never before had she missed civilization so much.
