The tables were coated with a cream table cloth matched with wooden chairs, soft clicking of porcelain teacups against the table could be heard in the surroundings. There were coffee makers at the side, accompanied by a couple microwaves.
Noel had entered the café, trying to escape from the heat outside. Ever since he had the ability to generate ice, warm weather just wasn’t suitable for him anymore. He was dressed in a plain white shirt, topped with a pair of black jeans, his hair slightly tousled.
A cup of coffee was placed before him, with a book placed next to it. He was getting bored being cooped up in the academy, with almost nothing interesting going on. He missed his life from before, wondering how everyone was coping. What if they had already forgotten his existence? Noel doesn’t even want to think about it. If, maybe, one day, he were to leave the academy, he’d love to have a place to return to. If there was no place he could call home, he’d rather stay in the academy and rot his life away.
He lifted the cup of coffee and took a sip, the creamy sensation traveled down his throat. Mmm, delicious. To be perfectly honest, he was surprised that coffee makers could make such a nice cup of coffee. Despite the fact that it’s pretty much self-service in the café, he was surprised at the level of cleanliness. There were a couple of dirty cutlery left at some tables, but it was definitely considered clean for a café without any waitresses.
With a book in his hand, he flipped to the page where he left off and leaned back slightly, enjoying his novel in the café, accompanied by a cup of coffee.

Ceo was wandering around campus. She was set firmly in her little-girl mentality, and was literally skipping through the halls, and humming to herself. She had made friends with several flowers earlier that morning, and was in a stupendous mood. However, she suddenly caught a strange scent in the air. She had never been in this particular part of the school, but the scent was positively lovely, and it drew her onward, right into the cafe. It lead her even further, until she was standing next to a table unintentionally sniffing the cup of the boy sitting at it. She stared suspiciously at the innocent looking liquid. It smelled positively heavenly. She turned to the boy, and pointed at the cup accusingly, "What is that?" she asked with the manners of the 8 year old that she often forgot she wasn't anymore.

He turned his head to the side and noticed a girl with amber hair, pointing at the cup of coffee on the table. It took him some time to process what the girl just said and her actions, and hesitated slightly before responding.
“You mean… this?”
He tilted his head to the side and pointed at the cup of coffee. The girl seemed to be around his age but from her body language and seemly blunt manner of speaking, the vibe he felt from her seemed to be saying that she’s a child stuck in the body of an adult. Somehow, she reminded him of her, a person that has graduated from this world and went to the other side.
Noel laughed and continued, “Coffee. Co-ff-ee,” he repeated, articulating each syllable carefully. “Would you like to have a sip? It’s slightly sweeter as compared to average coffee though, I, erm, tend to put way too much sugar and milk inside.” Noel always had a sweet tooth, which most guys would tend to avoid. With an awkward smile fixated on his lips, he introduced himself.
“I’m Noel, nice to meet you.”
The boy closed his book and placed it at the side of the table, stood up and walked to the other side, pulling out the chair slightly for the girl and grinned. “Would you like to have a seat?”

Ceo nodded enthusiastically at his question, and as he pointed at the cup just as she had. She returned his hesitant smile with one of her completely open smiling expressions. She would normally be much more closed, even in her child-mentality, but the boy seemed very kind, and Ceo felt that it was extremely unlikely that he would hurt her.
"Cof-fee..." Ceo tried the word out slowly. "I've never heard of Coffee. It smells really good!" Ceo's mother had always had a pot of tea in the kitchen. She had never made up this strange brew. Ceo had loved tea as a child, and she had always put sugar and milk into it, so when the boy mentioned that he did as well, she began to think that coffee might just be a strange kind of tea. "I would like...a small sip, please...if you don't mind?" Ceo asked hesitantly.
As he introduced himself, Ceo smiled, stood up straight as her mother had always taught her to, placed her hands behind her back, and recited, "My name is Ceobhraneala and it is lovely to have met you, Noel." She then gave a slight bow of her head, and looked up again, still smiling widely. If she had been wearing a proper dress, she would have curtsied.
She gracefully walked over to the seat he had offered with a small "Yes, thank you." She then ruined the graceful appearance by sitting down indian-style with her legs crossed, placing her elbows on the table, and her head on her hands. She beamed up at Noel. Her mother would have been horrified.

It’s never a bad thing to bring someone to join the love for coffee! “Whoa, that’s a long name. Ceobhraneala? Do you mind if you call you Ceo?” His eyes widened slightly – that was definitely the first time he had come across this name.
After Ceo returned a small bow and introduced herself, Noel can’t help but noticing that she probably came from a good family. Her manners were proper, something that has to be taught firmly since she was a child. It was pretty common to find teens that were loud and rowdy these days.
After she took up his offer and took a seat, he pushed back the chair gently, and returned to his seat. He noted that she crossed her legs instead of crossing her ankles together. Noel smiled, clear that she was still a little girl in her adult body.
“It’s still slightly warm though, I could make you another cup if it suits your taste.”
The boy pushed his cup of coffee gently across the table, grinning widely. Ceo was definitely a unique character. He had never come across a girl as blunt as her, yet filled with such innocence.
