Whoever had printed out the little hall maps needed to die. It was an unavoidable, escapable truth. Because whatever lunatic had decided to label the different rooms in tiny Comic Sans, and make the class labels in italicised Comic Sans was clearly a maniac and a danger to society.
Gabrielle sighed and folded up the map, sticking it into her pocket. She picked up her bag and slung it over her shoulder again, setting off down the hall. She had the room number memorised, if nothing else. B1023.
She peered at the nearest door and cursed. DG049? How many rooms were in this place?!

Ace had gone through the halls easily enough, naming certain areas herself by the look of them. She just turned the corner at 'Flickering-lighty-place Avenue' and took a left at 'Shitty-roof Drive', also commonly known as the DG block.
She adjusted the strap of her backpack which was slung over a shoulder, and tugged at the sleeves of her hoodie afterwords, trying to rip at the strings of it. It was a nervous habit.
She came across the tall girl holding the map, folding it, and sticking it in her pocket. Not seeing anything unusual, and not the sort of person to just casually stop and offer assistance, Ace just rolled her eyes, thinking Freshmen., and expertly swerved on her heels to go down the hall, humming a tune she couldn't quite place...

Gabrielle had started in on a little ranty tirade about rooms and their godamn numbers that made no godamn sense when she heard footsteps behind her and turned to see Ace turn the corner.
She weighed her options. On one hand, the girl hadn't stopped to help, which meant that either they were busy or an asshole. Not to mention, she looked like the type of person Gabrielle was usually 'friends' with, that she was meant to avoid.
On the other, she'd probably lost forever if she didn't at least try to follow some poor schmuck out, and if this girl was the type Gabrielle usually hung out with, she certainly was that.
Gabrielle grabbed the strap of her bag and pulled it down so the bag wouldn't bounce around as she moved and ran after Ace.
"Hey, wait a second!"

Ace turned at hearing someone come down after the hall after her. She raised her eyebrow at the frantic girl, pausing in her walk. She considered just turning around and ignoring her, but figured it might be something important.
She blinked in her direction, "What's up, zombies attacking? School shooting? What's the rush?" She asked in a somewhat bored tone, albeit slightly amused at the eagerness of this one to catch up with her. A small smirk showed on her face.
The tune that Ace had been humming had left her head after the interruption and Ace couldn't remember for the life of her what it had been. Once the girl had caught up with her, she walked slowly in a way that the girl might walk and talk with her, making a nod with her head for her to walk with. After all, she was going somewhere and wasn't one to be held up by strangers.
Ace sighed, "Look I saw you with the map. You're trying to get directions, right? Alright, where are you wanting to go?" She asked finally.

Gabrielle caught up quickly and settled into a quick pace beside Ace.
"Anywhere that isn't here but hopefully my godamn classroom." She said. She took out the map again and brandished it at Ace.
"Have you s-seen this thing? I-it's like it was made by a blind man with an icepick in his cerebathingy or whatever it's called. B-brain. Anyway, uh.... I'm Gabrielle. Hi."
She stuck out her hand for Ace to shake. "S-sorry for hassling you."
