Name: Charles Marcus Treddir
Age: 19
Sex: Male
Teacher? (Include Subject): No
Powers and Descriptions:
1. Vampirism: Somewhat enhanced physical strengths and senses. Can transform into a grotesque vampire monster at will with much further strengths and senses with the exception of sight. The sun does not hurt but it hampers his strength and ability to initially transform at will. Requires to feed on human blood every few days. If he goes without for too long he will transform into the vampire monster by force and go into a blood frenzy. He is bite is not yet able to turn his "victim."
2. Venom: Treddir has two venoms depending on his form.
Human form venom is more of a very mild sedative. It calms the body and mind, it decreases to pain of the bite to that of a paper cut, if the "victim" is already tired it can put them to sleep. Most would describe it as feeling soothing, intimate, or erotic and for the most part fairly enjoyable.
The vampire monster's venom is far different. Instead of calming the victim it paralyzes them, there is very small pain reduction, and it is not likely to put anyone to sleep.
3. Darkness: Treddir's original power. Creates small fields of darkness that light cannot penetrate. After just feeding the fields of darkness can be made much larger.
Personality:
Treddir is not an outcast vampire. He prefers interaction, which may be the result of inexperience as a vampire. He is not afraid of any type of person whether they are clinically insane or the most intelligent of people. He has large goals. Most involve medicine. He wishes to use his curse to find a cure for most of the world's great diseases, despite his lack of knowledge with medicine or chemistry. He will ask his victims for permission to feed on them. Between his charm and most of the hype that surrounds vampire most people are willing to be bitten and enjoy the experience. If he cannot find a willing participant he will disdainfully attack an animal. He seldom transforms into his monster form at will for fighting, he usually uses it to run or to scare off. He keeps his mindset in this form when he transforms at will.
His berserk side is quite different. After a few days without feeding on blood he will suddenly transform against his will. The vampire monster will be in a complete blood frenzy. Attacking anything with blood in its veins from a squirrel to a person to very large animals. However, he will never kill his victims since they will be a renewable resource for food in the future, however, if he gets a hold of them they will usually need hospitalization. Anything that attacks him in this form will be met with vicious rage. The form will maintain up to a half hour after feeding. If he does not feed within a few hours of forced transformation, he will revert back to his normal form in an extremely weakened state. If he does not feed within the next day the cycle will continue.
His diet consists of blood and whatever anyone convinces him to eat. Blood is the only thing that satisfies his hunger. Any food besides that just goes through his body as it would for any human but does nothing for his hunger.
Appearance: Treddir has dark hair. His skin isn't pale but has a greyish tint to tan skin. He wears sun screen and covering clothes, usually with gloves. Sometimes he wears a baseball cap. A veil of darkness is usually seen hovering over him on sunny days when there is no shade. He has slightly elongated fangs, which will grow larger as he ages.
The monster form looks like a hybrid between man and bat. It is bipedal with wings, far more extended fangs. The muscular physique of the monster is that of an amateur body builder but his strength is far past that. His hands and feet are clawed. His ears are large to make up for the diminished sight.
History: At age 5 young Charles Treddir discovered his ability to manipulate light or the lack thereof. He was a parent's dream child. Never afraid of the dark, since he could control it. Small orbs of darkness at the beginning turned into car sized fields by age 9. By age 16 it reached the size of a bedroom. His parents were very proud of him. Was a B student in school, didn't get into any big trouble, and of course his command over his powers. They found this a big pride point considering the amount of people like him who either lost control or never had any to begin with.
At age 18 Treddir's life turned around. On his way home from the movies with his friends he was swept into an alley before he even knew to expect anything. A man much taller than him with fangs stood over him. "You look delicious, you are not like others from around here." As he said that the alley turned pitch black. Treddir got up and started punching his assailant. He was sure he had him until his hand was caught by massive clawed hand. After that he was bitten on the shoulder by two massive fangs. The darkness dissipated and before Treddir's eyes was a large bat creature. He felt his life ebbing away as he was thrown to the sidewalk outside of the alley, and the bat creature flew away. It was the last human sight he saw.
A two days later Treddir opened his eyes in a room with lots of beeping and his sleeping father in a chair next to his bed. It was a hospital. He was wired up and had many medications and a blood bag pouring into his veins. A chart was near his bed, tracking his hourly progression, he was critical and increased dramatically since. Another thing, he was very hungry. He pressed the button on his bed to call for a nurse, she came rushing in and called out a code on her radio. A few doctors came in, at this time his father woke up and hugged him. His father was removed from the room.
"Morphine, now." A doctor said. Treddir had no time or will to respond to that. A doctor injected him with morphine, but nothing happened. After giving him ten milligrams of morphine the doctors gave up. They could not sedate him.
"Um, doc, whats wrong?" Treddir finally asked.
"You were in a coma for two days with two stab wounds in your shoulder. What kind of pain are you feeling?" The doctor asked. Treddir noticed his name tag, Dr. Arnold Culara.
"None, but can I have some food, I'm really hungry." Treddir pleaded.
"Sure thing, only liquids though." Dr. Culara walked out and a few minutes later there was jello, soup, and water on a tray for him. They did absolutely nothing for him.
After a few hours of hunger he called for the nurse again who returned with Dr. Culara. Treddir found this strange that a doctor was around this long and attentively.
"Doc, I'm really hungry, and really thirsty." Treddir started saying weakly.
Dr. Culara's eyebrow raised, "Charles, we have had you on an IV drip, given you food, and no medicine to give you cotton mouth." He looked oddly at Treddir's blood bag. "And, you haven't absorbed any blood...."
Dr. Culara went to the blood bag and checked to make sure it was hooked up properly. It was.
The doctor leaned in to check Treddir's eyes and mouth. "My your teeth, you really need an orthodontist, those canines are far too large."
Treddir found this weird, he just had his braces taken off two years ago, surely they would have noticed that, but something suddenly distracted him. The doctor, smelled like iron. It smelled amazing. Treddir's heart began to race and his monitors started going crazy. The doctor looked up at the monitors and then back at Treddir. "We need anesthetics and the paddles, stat. He's going into cardiac arrest." The nurse rushed out and a call went on to the sound systems with codes Treddir could not understand.
Then it happened. Treddir shot up to standing. And then he started to transform. He grew taller. Hair grew all over his body. His skin darkened to pure blackness. Claws replaced his hands. His nose became a snout. His ears massive. Finally, with a roar from Treddir, wings jutted out of the beasts back.
The doctor stumbled backward but was caught by Treddir, he sunk his massive teeth into the doctor and began to drink blood. He threw the doctor to the side after he was finished and walked out of his room. The entire hospital floor was looking at him in horror and screams. Treddir looked out the window, at the moon. He ran for the window and crashed through it, and as if instinct guided him he took flight from the fourth story.
He landed in the most secluded place possible, a park. He began to wipe his chops of blood and lick it from his hands. And within a few minutes he was transforming into his normal self. He looked at his hands, "What...how....?" He put his hands to his face and began to cry. He was a monster, a blood sucking monster. As far as he knew he could have killed the doctor. He needed help, he decided to run home.
Darkness surrounded him as he created shadows to walk through against the walls. He was far faster at walking home from this park than he remembered. When he got back to his house, there were police cars parked outside.
He went behind a bush. "Oh man, I did kill him. And they know I'm a monster." He needed a few things, and to say good bye to his parents, he knew he could not stay.
He stood up and cast a veil of darkness and to his surprise it covered the entire house, including the cop cars. He could hear the police panicking and but did not hear his parents. They must have known it was him.
Treddir moved quietly to his house, went inside and found his parents. Allowing for just enough light so they could see him.
"Mom.... Dad." He looked at them, tears streaming down their face to match his. "I'm sorry." He ran up to them and hugged them both, they returned the sentiment. "Something happened to me. I need to drink blood. And I attacked someone."
His mom started to cry more. His father bowed his head. "They told us. Is this new?"
"Yes sir. I think this is what happened to me the other night. I wasn't stabbed. I was bitten." Treddir responded.
"My baby." His mother hugged him tight.
"I love you two, but I think I need to go, we know what happens when people like me end up hurting someone." Treddir said, looking his father in the eye.
"We knew when you were little this could end up being a possibility, but now its reality. I kept this just in case." He handed Treddir a brochure. "Solstice academy is for people like you. Make your way there and you will be fine."
Treddir hugged his mom tighter. "I will see you again one day. When I'm stronger, more in control."
His father joined back in the hug. "I know. We love you Charlie. Go get some things. And get out of here before they bring in the dogs."
Treddir went to his room, packed a suit case and then barking was heard. Running and getting louder. They could smell him where he couldn't be seen. Treddir slammed the door shut as he heard people stumbling behind the dogs. He grabbed the rest of his things and jumped out the window. He landed softly. The darkness disappeared as the police barged into his room, they found nothing. He was gone.
Treddir ran for two city blocks where he was once again yanked into an alley way. "Good show." That sinister voice said. It was the man from before, he now realized this man was one of the other doctors Dr. Culara was working with.
Treddir punched the man. This time it knocked him down. "What the hell did you do to me?" Treddir roared.
The man chuckled. "I awakened the beast within you. You are like me. As you guessed, a vampire." The man wasted no time, "Our particular breed of vampire can devour blood from our victims as a human and it feels good. Might even get you laid a few times my boy." He chuckled. "And we can become a beast, as I'm sure you know. If you don't drink blood at least every two days, you will do what you did in the hospital. But if you do drink up, you can turn at will and you won't lose control." With that the vampire transformed. "And don't worry about doing what I did to you. You've got many years until you can decide to turn someone. Roughly 70 to be a little more precise." Treddir noticed this man did not look a day over 30 when he was a human.
"Oh and you may want to avoid sunlight, that darkness power might help you out some. It doesn't hurt, but you'll feel like you had run a triple marathon....when you were human of course." The vampire turned around and spread his wings. "Enjoy your new life." He took off into the night and left with a roar.
Over the next year, Treddir would make his way to Solstice on foot traveling day and night. Seldom changing to the beast to avoid people who knew what kind of person he was now, it was an effective way of scaring them off.
On his way he would find people on their way to horror movies and play into the whole horror vampire and romance theme to convince them to let him suck their blood. Almost everyone agreed, they walked away acting as if they were slightly inebriated with a smile of ease as they always looked back at him before he would vanish into darkness.
