Name: Jacob Khorwa
Age: 15
Sex: Male
Power: Prisoner of Samsara
Whatever place lies after death has expelled Jacob Khorwa from its halls.
Prisoner of Samsara forces Jacob, upon death, into another human body, from which the original Âtman, or soul/self, is ejected. All knowledge and muscle memory are retained with the body due to neural pathing. What happens to the indigenous Âtman is unknown, but the possibilities are all very bleak.
The chosen vessel is always relatively close by. Gender, health, and age are not considerations, nor are any qualities of the native Âtman; only a living human being is required. The transfer is instantaneous and violent, and all occurrences have forced Jacob to spend two to three days recovering in a comatose state.
Appearance: Jacob's current features carry a heavy central European cast, with the thick black hair and darker skin common to Hungary and Czechoslovakia, as Slavic blood runs strongly in his veins. His eyes are blue, and he favors eye contact during conversation.
In terms of clothing, Jacob is remarkably ascetic - he wears only the essentials, and doesn't even bother to carry a wallet, much less jewelry or other accessories.
Personality: Jacob is by nature intelligent and deeply empathic, though he has developed a brutal streak of pragmatism through his lifetimes. Having switched genders, ages, and bodies multiple times, he is utterly without prejudice, and little disturbs him anymore as a result.
He fears little except his own death and the consequences thereof, so he speaks bluntly and uses straightforward solutions. He has no temper to speak of, though he is easy to irritate, and has a sharp tongue when so provoked.
History: Upon his natural and first death at the age of fifty-three, as a bachelor, Jacob woke in the body of a fourteen-year-old girl. Thus proceeded much histronics and embarassing behavior, and it took him near a decade to become accustomed to his new situation. Motherhood helped him adjust, oddly enough, and when he passed at seventy-two, he left behind two boys, a girl, and a flock of grandchildren in his hospital room, satisfied with his second life.
When he awoke, again, in the body of his son, the child he had known utterly vanished, he realized the sick kharmic joke that had been played on him, and yet more dark days followed, although necessity compelled him to recover and adjust, as now he realized that the price of his failures would be the lives and souls of others.
A car crash a decade later cut his life short, and he woke again in the body of a babe in a carriage nearby.
Desperation now drives him to Solstice Academy, to learn the direction, cause, and control of his terrible power, that he might prevent yet more casualties in his eternal wake.
