Face claim: Shouta Kazehaya, Kimi ni Todoke. (If needed)
Name: Noel Black
Age: 16, Second Year.
Sex: Male.
Teacher? (Include Subject): Nil.
Powers and Descriptions:
Ice Generation: He’s able to turn water into ice in an instant and even without the presence of water; he is able to cover an object with ice. On top of that, he can make the surroundings around him below freezing temperature. However, Noel is unable to fully control his ability. Occasionally, he might freeze an object by touching it even if he didn’t intend to do so.
Personality: Despite his icy powers, he’s a cheerful boy by nature. He enjoys teasing people and giving everyone a nick name. It could even be a difficult task for him to stay still at one location. Although he’s hard to get angry, when he’s terribly annoyed or furious, he will tend to cover them with a layer of ice. After snapping out of his fury, he’ll remove the ice away, but no apologies will be said and he’ll walk away. Noel will tentatively avoid any sorts of conflicts if he could and might be hard to communicate with when in a bad mood. Overall, he’s easy going and friendly, but silent and cold when angered.
Appearance: Standing at 5’6” with a lean built, he’s of average height for guys. His black hair is always tousled, which he finds it a chore to keep it neat and tidy. It reaches the back of his neck and touches his eyebrows, covering part of his ears. A pair of hazel brown eyes will always be smiling at you, his complexion slightly tanned. He’s often dressed in a plain shirt and jeans, but occasionally seen in a hoodie or singlet.
History: Noel was brought up in a sheltered family with average income. He was taught since young that if you were nice to others, they will naturally be nice to you too. He had a younger sister which meant the world to him and he’d always be seen bringing her out to the park and play or buying cute toys for her.
Cheerful Noel thought that his life was perfect, until the day that the terrible incident. Unlike him, his sister was quiet and shy, always nervous around people and shun away from everyone apart from her family. She’d always cling to him whenever other children approached her and would run away when they tried to play with her. Eventually, when she was ten, the older kids in her school began to pick on her. She’d keep things to herself and every time Noel noticed a new bruise on her arms, she’d brush it off with a small smile, assuring him that she was careless and injured herself. Noel was suspicious, but didn’t probe any further. They were enrolled in different schools and Noel had never heard her mention anything about being picked on by others, and had no idea what she was going through in school.
He received a phone call from his sister, saying that she was glad that he was her older brother and thanked him for everything. Shocked by that phone call, he rushed home immediately, only to find out that his younger sister had jumped off the apartment building. The ambulance came within minutes and when Noel snapped out of the trance, he realized that he was at the hospital, his mother wailing in his father’s arms. The doctor walked out of the operation room and shook his head slightly. Noel blinked his eyes and his breathing felt so heavy. His younger sister was… gone? He could hear his mother screaming and water dripping on his hands. He couldn’t stop his tears from flowing.
What had happened? Angered, he rushed back home and ran to her room to look for clues. He couldn’t believe that his sister would do such a foolish action without any reason. He threw books on the ground, pushed the toys off from the bed and knelt down on the floor, holding his head in his hands. Why? He couldn’t understand why his sister had ended her life. His eyes noticed a tiny pink book at the corner and he picked it up. Could this be… her dairy? Noel opened it and read the entries. It was at that moment when he realized that his sister was suffering in school. Her notes were constantly being scribbled on and her stuff was stolen. The bullying eventually got so bad that they started pushing her when she was walking or pretend to bump into her. She had no idea what to do and with her withdrawn personality, she seeks death as the only solution. How did the bullying start? It all started when she bumped into a senior by accident, apologized with her soft voice and walked away quickly. After confrontation, she stayed silent, not sure what she should do or say, which angered the seniors. They started bullying her for ignoring them and eventually found it fun to use her as their venting toy.
It all began with such a small incident. Such a petty matter and his little sister were gone. She’d never be there to listen to his rambles, his new addiction, lame hobbies, and ideas for the future, rants… She’s gone. Forever. He went to her school and sought out the bullies and told them what happened to her, expecting them to apologize and feel remorse. Instead, they laughed and called her a weakling. Fuelled with anger, he wished that all of them would suffer the same pain as his sister did. The door slammed shut and a layer of ice covered it. The seniors began to feel fear. They had no idea what was going on and the temperature of the room was decreasing at a rapid state. Some of them began to cry and apologized but Noel was taken over by anger and devastation. He couldn’t stop himself anymore.
The layer of ice began to spread to the walls and soon, the entire room was covered with ice. When he snapped out of it, he found himself in an icy cold room and the bullies were frozen with a layer of ice over them. Was that his doing? He had no intention of hurting them. Realizing that if he could control the movements of the ice, perhaps he could defrost them. After several failed attempts, the ice finally shattered and thankfully, no one died from the cold. Some of them suffered from serious hypothermia and was sent to the hospital immediately. He was sent to the Solstice Academy against his will, after being classified as a freak by the government.
