Name: Gabrielle Viaris
Age: 18
Sex: Female
Powers and Descriptions:
Telekinesis:
Gabrielle’s telekinesis is quite powerful, but largely uncontrollable. She can manifest quick, highly destructive bursts or lift large, sturdy objects for a long time, but anything smaller than a wardrobe is liable to be damaged and objects such as chairs, bottles or children will simply be crushed.
The physical side effects include nosebleeds, headaches of varying severity, subconjunctival haemorrhaging and possibly of a heart attack or aneurysm.
As she uses this power, she will have minor physical changes. Her teeth with lengthen and sharpen, the sclera of her left eye will turn black and black markings will spread from it, travelling along her jaw and eventually along her entire body.
The power is technically located in her eyes; if she loses her eyes or goes blind, she will no longer be able to use it.
Psychic Distortion:
This power is a passive power that Gabrielle is unaware of having and is actually a form of ESP. However, due to her being a dhamphir, the power is not manifesting as it should. Instead of being able to reach out with her mind in any way, it is distorting or even outright repelling any psychic abilities used on her.
The power is constantly active, ‘spiking’ when someone attempts to use a psychic ability on her or interact with her psychically. There are no physical side effects to this power, but its mental side effect is that as time goes on, Gabrielle’s mental health will slowly degenerate, starting with mild paranoia and culminating with severe paranoid schizophrenia. The more it is ‘spiked’, the sooner this will occur.
Regeneration:
Regeneration is the only power that Gabrielle received from being a dhamphir. It allows her to heal very quickly from small wounds. This regeneration is greatly boosted when she consumes blood (with fresh being far more effective), allowing her to recover from more grievous injuries. She may even be able to regrow organs or limbs, unless the shock kills her first or she dies before the new organ starts working.
The regeneration is all dependent on the last time that she drank blood. Depending on how much she drank, it can be boosted from two hours to three days, though the latter would require almost killing someone.
Personality:
Gabrielle is a friendly, though volatile, individual with poor social skills. Due to her social ineptitude, she finds it hard to makes friends, which she tries to compensate for by making constant jokes. However, she has several ‘triggers’, which can and have caused conversations to deteriorate due to her suddenly getting extremely angry in the middle of a perfectly pleasant conversation. Also, when she gets upset, she starts to stutter, which exacerbates the problem.
Usually after a situation like that has occurred, Gabrielle will become solitary and deadpan for a while, interacting as little as possible until she feels better.
Gabrielle has what could be called Chronic Hero Syndrome. If someone needs help, then she will go out of her way, even when it involves doing something incredibly stupid for someone she barely knows. This, combined with her hot-headedness and tendency towards raging out, means that she had the reputation for being something of a delinquent vigilante at her old school.
Despite her awkwardness, Gabrielle gets on well with children, having helped take care of the other children in the home most of her life.
In her spare time, she plays (or at least tries to) the violin and piano, RPGs and collects Warhammer armies.
Appearance:
Gabrielle is 6’2 tall, fairly curvy and well-muscled, with broad shoulders. She has olive tan skin, black wavy hair and her eyes are a very light grey with dark grey around the edge of the iris. She has sharp angular features with a long nose that looks like it has been broken at least once, a mouth slightly too wide for her jaw and high cheekbones.
She has various small scars on her hands and arms, and a larger one on her right cheek from being punched by someone wearing a ring. Her teeth are longer than usual and sharp looking. She tends to wear black and dark greys and reds.
History:
Gabrielle and her twin sister, Artemis, were the result of a brief relationship between their mother, Maria, and an unknown vampire. They were raised by Maria until she committed suicide when they were seven and were put into the custody of their step-father, who also died shortly after.
The two girls were put into a home run by Father Valance Rodriguez and Sister Elena Dubois, which was part of the local church. No one died, but they did join the church choir, and Gabrielle was encouraged to take up piano and violin. When she was sixteen, she began working as an undertaker/gravedigger in the graveyard of the church, shortly after her dhamphiric first became apparent. This coincided with reduced school hours and more stay at home projects.
A month before her departure for Solstice, Gabrielle accidentally injured another girl with her powers while in school. She was given two choices; Go to somewhere like Solstice, where she could learn to control her powers and be surrounded by others like her, or be put under house arrest in a special house for the rest of her life so she wouldn’t be a danger to the general populace. She choose the former (obviously), and she and her sister sold off most of their mother’s old belongings to pay the fees.
