Erika let herself slid down the tree trunk she had been leaning on, her magenta eyes lost in thought. She hugged herself, goosebumps on her skin from the cold night air. Guess i should have made that stop to the dorms. she thought before giving a soft scoff. While getting a jacket would have been a good idea, it was the last thing on her mind after her mother's visit. No, not just her mother's visit. Today had been the first day that the girl had seen her baby sister, who was just turning seven months old.
Sitting in the crowded cafeteria, Erika felt awkward as she looked at her mother. The older woman seemed to be an older, exhausted and weary version of Erika, apart from her wavy blonde hair. The only thing Erika inherited from her father seemed to be his dark hair. And lets not forget his good sense.she thought as she looked into her coffee cup. It was the blonde woman who decided to break the silence by clearing her throat. "Would you like to hold Amy?" she asked, bouncing the light haired infant gently on her lap.
"No."
Erika's answer was short and to the point. As far as she was concerned, that child was not her sister. It was something spawned by a monster and idiotic, obedient sheep. While her mother was disappointed by the reply, she didnt press Erika to take her precious baby. "Do you like it here? Have you made lots of friends?" she asked, trying to force her eldest daughter to say something more than 'hi', 'sure', 'yes' and 'no'. Erika paused for a moment before beginning to speak hesitantly.
"It's alright." she shrugged. "I've met a few people who are nice. I'm not sure if we're friends or not. I presume so." she shrugged. It was painful to talk to someone you really didnt want to even see. After another brief silence, her mother glanced around before looking directly into her eyes, a serious look on her face. "Are you... better? Have you gotten over your problems?" she asked, holding Amy closer to her. "If you are...I'm sure Sloan wouldn't mind you coming home for Christmas, and then we can see about you coming back home for good." she offered a smile.
The first two questions had Erika stunned. Was she 'better'? Did this woman honestly think her powers were an illness?! The black haired girl shook her head in disbelief. "What the fuck is wrong with you?" she asked out loud before standing up. "I'm not sick Mom. I have...mutant powers or something. I'm not 'getting better'. I don't want to know Amy." she hissed standing up. "And I don't want to go back 'home' to that pig." she finished before storming out and headed towards the forest.
Resting her forehead on her knees Erika heaved a sigh. She just couldn't get past this...anger. This resentment for Sloan had infected her feelings for her mother and even her half sister, who, really did nothing to her. Erika ran her hands through her hair in frustration. This day sucked. As if answering the thought, there was a low rumble of thunder and the heavens opened up, letting the rain fall heavily. "Well shit."

Just after Erika muttered her curse there was a rustle from a nearby bush that blocked off another path through the forest, and said rustle was the bush being pushed aside and Cruor walking past it only to turn to walk toward the new path and stumble over Erika, landing him face first in the dirt. From his position he muttered a quick apology before pulling himself upright and looking at the sky then down to Erika. " oh... sorry ?... wait why are you sitting in the forest in the middle of a rain storm?." He then asked as he put his hand out and made an umbrella out of ice before putting it over her her.
Cruor looked quite different then the last time Erika had seen him, he was almost normal looking, forgiving of course the blood coated jacket and pupiless eyes. But to those who had seen him before he would seem serene, obviously life on the island had been far more kind to him then most would expect, although having real food and the time to sleep would definitely help someones demeanor. Although under the serene countenance the same screaming voices raged in his head, but at least he could ignore them for now.

Thanks to the rumble of thunder, Erika hadn't even heard Cruor approach. Rather ironic considering sound was her thing. One thing she was sitting in the downpour, seething in her own anger and the next moment, something crashed into her. "Woah! Watch it!" she snapped, curling into a tight ball for just a moment before leaning back up to glare at the figure. Once she realized who it was, the hostile look was dropped. "Cruor!" she exclaimed. She hadn't seen him in a long time. "Jeez, I'm sorry, I didn't see you, or hear you. You alright?" she knelt next to him as he pushed himself up. She frowned a little as she asked her why she was out on a night like this. "I just needed some air." she said with a weak smile as he held the ice umbrella. "My mom and half sister decided to visit. Things tend to get heated."
She studied his face a little more. He certainly had changed since she had seen him last. "You're looking...good. Things must be going well for you?" she said trying to shift the topic. There was a much calmer air about this Cruor than the one she had first met. "You seem... is happier a good word to use? Maybe better rested?" she scratched the back of her head. She was glad that things seemed to be going well for him. This place, while she had been uncertain about it herself at first, seemed to be a pretty good place for all who came to attend.

Cruor showed a sad smile as she mentioned family, " I'm sorry things didn't go well with your family." Cruor moved so that Erika could stand , " You could say i've been better rested, i've also gotten some real food and such as of late, turns out a few months without sleep isn't fixed over night, so it took a while for me to sort myself out some." He then said as he gave another smile. " thanks again for helping me out before though Erika i really appreciate it. " Cruor added looking at the sky again with a sigh, the clouds and rain reminded him of home, something he dearly missed.
Cruor placed the umbrella on the floor nearby and it quickly grew to the the height of a small room giving them a wide area to be free of the rain in, with only a few hand movements a pair of chairs with a table between them formed. " Would you like to sit on something not the floor perhaps, he then asked" as he went to sit on the far chair.

Erika shook her head. "It's not like.. I had my hopes up or anything. I just didn't expect her to bring the kid." she muttered as she got to her feet. She grabbed her hair and began to squeeze the water from it as Cruor spoke. She gave a small smirk. "Dork." she said in a friendly voice. "Lets not have those sleepless months go on again. I'm going to confiscate all your sugar and caffeine if i think you're going to try pull that again." she said raising a brow. Proper food and sleep were truly all someone needed sometimes to feel much better. Her smile turned more genuine as he thanked her. "Don't mention it."
She watched as Cruor made the small room of ice. She ran her hand through her hair, that had started to freeze up a little. She far preferred this over the rain. "That chair looks a lot better than the ground." she nodded as she moved to the seat. "You still have phenomenal control over your powers i see." she smiled. She had been improving herself. Around this islands beach, there was an alarming shortage of seagulls as of late thanks to her practicing.

Cruor smiled when she mentioned the sugar , he put his hand over his heart in a mock moment of sincerity, " i solemnly swear i will not eat even one teaspoon of sugar." After which Cruor snapped his fingers and out of the rain that fell a golem of ice formed itself and walked into the small room, " You go get some tea for me to drink extra sugary, Would you like anything Erika?" He then said half looking at her half at the golem.
Cruor stood back up, removed his jacket and shook it out, any relative grime in or on the jacket removed itself with the blood. Cruor then offered the jacket to Erika, " If i remember correctly you don't share my immunity to the temperature.Cruor said as he prompted said jacket toward Erika.

Erika scoffed as Cruor put his hand over his heart and pledged not to take even one teaspoon of sugar. "Excellent. I feel i can trust you to do that." she rolled her eyes and shook her head with amusement. She was quite content, and even felt less angry about today's earlier events. Looking up at the ice golem, she smirked a little at Cruor's 'extra sugary' detail. "You know what, I think im gonna go for a Dr. Pepper, please." she said to the ice creature.
She had hardly noticed she was rubbing her arms up and down to warm herself. Her skin had goosebumps. As Cruor shook out his jacket and handed it to her, she gave a small side smile. "Thanks." she said as she pulled it on. Dried in blood and grime didn't seem to bother her any if it meant warming up. "You're memory serves you well." The last time they had done this they had been interrupted. She gave a small chuckle. "I wonder if history will repeat itself." she rubbed her chin in thought. She really didn't fancy running from a Vampire this night. Flight mode would be off, and fight mode on.

Cruor nodded at the Golem and it toddled off to get the requested drinks. A moment after it was nearing the end of earshot Cruor called after it again " Get me some scones while your at it, i could use something warm, preferably maple." Cruor sat back down after he called, " yes i would hope Ketsueki won't decide to grace us with her presence today. i really would like to have those scones without any more blood on them then is necessary." Cruor then said with a happy tone. Cruor then leaned back his chair balancing up on two legs and locking his under the table. " So then, besides the obvious how have you been Erika?" Cruor asked in a happy tone as though he was truly enjoying himself.

Erika watched as the golem wandered off, only stopping as Cruor added to his request. She wondered what the people in the cafeteria thought of an ice creature stomping in and getting the different bits and pieces. It would be humorous to see, to say the least. Her attention returned to Cruor as he spoke. "If a scone has any blood on them, i think that usually classifies as unnecessary." she mused, raising a brow.
"I've been... good." she had to admit. "I mean I actually really like this place. I was dreading it at first but now i can't imagine going back home or leaving the island." she said. "Things are just much better here, Not to mention im really getting the hang of my powers, which has been a nice bonus." she crossed her arms and looked up, a little lost in thought. "I dont think i'll be leaving until i graduate." she was starting to plan out her school life already. She was going to do well here, and then, graduate with at least average grades. Then she could go get a job, maybe a dj or something, music would be nice to get into. She'd have a good life back on the mainland America and wouldn't have to see her family again. It would be perfect.

Cruor laughed a bit when Erika mention having no blood on the scones, He then placed his hand on the table and pulled it away a bloody hand print now sat where his hand had been, " If i touch anything i get blood on it. so realistically, i can't much help it contaminating anything i go about trying to eat. " , he then said in an amused tone.
not much after Cruor placed the hand print the blood mixed into the table then was filtered out of the bottom of the table and into the ground. Cruor took on a more comfortable sitting posture and listened to what Erika had to say, " I'm glad things hear are going well for you, i can say i'm doing at least okay myself, I've managed to evade being shoved into another therapy group, guess they've decided ignoring the constant screaming inside my head is a good enough reason to let me loose on the other students." Cruor then said with a devious smirk toward the end of the sentence. He then glanced off to the side to check if the golem had returned with awaited food, however it had not.

Erika leaned forward to see what Cruor was doing as he put his hand on the table. Once he took it away, a bloody hand print was left. "I see what you mean..." she said with a weak grin. "Doesn't that make food taste weird?" she asked. "I'm all for a rare steak and all, but ill take my scones blood-free thank you very much." she mused as she sat back once again.
Erika watched as the blood made its way down through the ice, an interesting and pretty thing to watch. She smiled as he responded to her. "Congratulations on evading another group therapy session." she smiled, though let the sarcasm out of her voice. "Well, I have to say i don't feel like im in danger." she remarked. "I never did around you. But what about you? Do you think you're in charge of the voices now?" she asked, for her own curiousness to be satisfied.

Cruor suppressed a smile as Erika mentioned that the blood would make the food taste funny, just before he began to speak he put up the best confused face he could manage, " I don't think it makes the food taste funny? Everything has an after taste of iron and a bit of salt , doesn't it?" Cruor then asked with a false naive tone. Not a moment later the Ice golem from earlier finally came back, in its arms a tray carrying the scones, tea and Erika's dr pepper, the food having been covered by a small ice dome to keep it from getting wet,it simply walked in placed the tray on the table and immediately melted into the ground merely a puddle now.
Cruor placed the scones in the center of the table and took his tea, he took on a more serious countence now, " As for the voices I can't say that i've really got them under command, but i can at least ignore them now, enough so that I shouldn't give in to them or start murdering at random or something." Cruor took a moment and thought ," I'm surprised Erika, Feeling safe around something like me seems well, unsafe did you see what could happen, like with that vampire trash i found in the dorm rooms. None the less I appreciate your trust i'll be sure not to break it." He then said with a somber but warm tone. after a moment of silence he began sipping his tea and picked out a scone to snack on.
