He could smell it in the air. The smell of musk and the loud huff of flaring nostrils. It was ripe for the picking, sweet muscles under furred flesh, raw power in the form of an animal. Its' long tail like a rudder, its' golden eyes glowed from the upper brush. It bounded from the top of the leaves springing on to a small pray quickly snapping its neck and devouring it as many wild animals do. Yet while the black shadow of a cat ate its' prey something more dangerous was lurking beyond the greens. The creature showed out its rasar sharp shark's teeth. Its' eyes slowly rusted from dark gray to red. It lunged out of the brush at the animal. There was one fierce cry and the shadow of a cat was down, dead and bleeding on the forest floor. Jubil quickly tore open the animal's belly from the open wound in its' throat. He felt the tendons give way to bone and broke the bone with a swift CRACK. He wanted the hear, and liver before the spoiled from decay. First was the heart, it was easy to get to under the bones of the chest, but the liver was a different matter, he had to rip through large and small intestine and a stomach to reach that pot of glory. The small boy quickly let out snarles as he ate the raw dripping meat. It was still warm from the creature's body. Jubil was quickly stripping the carcass to the bone.

Sometimes, Secernia just came to this island to think. Perdu was fantastic for being a very quiet place, barely a sound anywhere on this island. Deep within it's jungle, sure there were a few things that might pounce, but Secernia didn't worry too much about that. She walked through the forest confidently, wearing an old torn shirt that exposed her midriff, and classy denim shorts. Her belt held a hand-made scabbard for her knife, just in case she felt the need or want to kill something.
Her back exposed showed the bottom half of her tattoo on her tanned skin, Daidamus' constant presence, sitting there, metaphorically watching over her back, just in case. Well, it was more than a metaphor really. She stepped over and around the foliage carefully. It didn't take long to hear the sounds of a panther, making his final cry. Then the sounds of tearing, chomping, something about the sounds being far too human.
Secernia teleported closer to the noise, simply out of curiosity. "Hello~" She called into the wilderness somewhat girlishly, just waiting, almost hopefully, for something to reach out and try and kill her. How exciting, lets do that, she thought to herself. She giggled a little to herself, not trying to be particularly quiet about it. [/blockquote]

Jubil's head shot up at the chipper "Hello~" in the distance. It wasn't close, but it wasn't far off either. His currently rust colored eyes scanned the trees and underbrush for a person. Jubil knew that students would come to the island for either peace or excitement but he wouldn't want a person to stumble upon the scene of him, a child eating a large predatory cat raw. Blood covered his mouth, it was rust colored and smelled of rot to Jubil now. His clothes were tattered black shreds, and knee length shorts. Rows of razor sharp teeth gleamed with the color of burgundy. Jubil still was unsure how his teeth got to this state and if he would ever be able to make them look human again.
He could easily hear the crunch of the girl's footsteps, some times...then it would dissipate and could be heard closer. Panic set in as he crouched near his prey, hoping the underbrush would cover him. He looked over the carcass and stared at a sharp rib bone protruding from the red and black mass of flesh that still covered bits of the animal. Jubil quickly grabbed it, pressing his weight down the bone snapped and jubil started twisting and jerking it from the tendons and cartilage.
If Jubil was going to be attacked he would rather fight the person off with out resorting to his powers. He did not want to be a monster. Yet as he thought this, in the back of his mind he felt it, the small jabbing poke. 'You already are a monster, look at your teeth. Your eyes. What you eat. You're turning in to that thing, the creature in the mirror.' Jubil let out a low growl.

Secernia smirked at the sound of snapping and ripping cartilage. She walked closer to the sound to find nothing less but a little boy with ripped clothing, a bloody face, and a sharp pointy rib in his hand, for good measure. She smiled at the boy.
"Hi there, Kid? Are you okay out here?" Her eyes flicked over to the body of the big cat and her red eyes squinted over to him for a moment, assessing the situation. She paused, "I'm not going to hurt you..." She said softly. Whether this was true or not hadn't fully been assessed. She might, she might not. However, Secernia didn't want to begin by threatening. She wanted to gain trust. Why would she put herself in harms way before she knew whether or not it was worth the risk?
She left her own knife where it was on her side, but if he came any closer, she would have no hesitancy in pulling out from it's scabbard and teleporting just behind him.. "You should get back to the academy," She cooed, "I'm sure someone's looking for you..."

The way the girl looked at Jubil made his stomach sink. That pit feeling that makes the hair on the back of a person's neck stand on end. Jubil kept in the hunched over defensive position. She was smart, he could tell by the way she talked, but by the way she moved, he could tell that she could easily kill him with little remorse. He let out a hiss like a wild animal, showing her his sharpened teeth.
Jubil held the bone like a weapon that he meant it to be. "I'm sure Ariel is looking for her hair back" he growled at her, referencing her red hair to the cartoon mermaid his sister always childishly watched. Jubil made a quick eye movement as he looked for a way to escape. The only one he could manage would be the trees but he also concluded that this girl wouldn't be far behind him and wanting a fight if he took flight. He let out another growl.

Secernia blinked as he haunched, growled, acted like some sort of wild animal. Then he said that Ariel was looking for her hair back. and Tarzan wants his personality back. she thought of sarcastically replying. However, she thought better of it.
Secernia laughed outright, "Oh, I'll take that as a compliment. I always thought The little mermaid had lovely hair... " She smiled warmly to the child. She wondered if that was supposed to be his retort? Some kind of comeback to being afraid, if that's how he felt. Making stupid little references to cartoons. He really is just a little brat... She thought to herself, almost with a hint of pity to her thoughts.
"You don't have to be afraid..." She said simply, moving slowly to take a step towards the little boy, showing that she wasn't afraid of him, that she could be someone to protect him if needs be. "Really..." She assured him, hoping as well that he wouldn't be a hassle to deal with. "Don't you have someone that's looking for you?"

Jubil looked at her. He thought as he just continued to glare at her. Jubil took a step back every time she took a step forward. It wasn't specificly fear that drove him, it was mistrust. Everything in Jubil's body told him not to trust this girl. That she could be a potential death blow for him.
"No." was what he said to her ancwer. He lied, he knew that his sister was probably looking for him desperately. But it was better for her, he wanted her to make friends away from him. He would only hold her back or hurt her in the end. He didn't want to do either. "Away" he told her as he took another step back and quickly bounded for the trees.
Jubil may have been small and skinny but that didn't mean he wasn't strong. Jubil was scrambling up a tree till he was able to sturdy him self on a branch before jumping to the next one near by. Jubil just new that he couldn't be friends with this girl, she, or someone she knows could easily be the death of him.

Secernia wasn't quite sure how to react to this kid who just kept backing up from her. It was obvious that despite her best efforts he was going to be a hassle. Part of her just wanted to chase him when he ran, seeing it as a game of catch. The other part of her wanted to leave him as he was and let him on his way. The part that liked fun won out of course.
She grinned nearly from ear to ear, teleporting up to the branch of the tree where the kid was going, and letting out a playful laugh, "Shall we play a game of tag kid?" She asked loudly, probably attracting other animals to them as well. This was gonna be a great laugh, she thought to herself.
"I love playing games." She said sincerely, jumping from branch to branch as best as she could. Whenever she lost her balance from one she'd teleport to the next one she saw. The worse that she got was mild diziness, but this went away shortly, and it wasn't that big a deal. She wondered just how far he would run from her.
Eventually, she started to see a pattern in his movements as he bounded from branch to branch, and teleported herself two branches ahead, preparing herself to catch him if he fell for it...

Jubil was flying through the air by the time the girl appeared in front of him. Right on the target he wanted to jump on, she was there. She was a teleporter that would explain the strange foot step patterns that he heard when she approached him. Though it had only been a short period of time he was sure they went a fair distance from the panther carcass. Now she was right in his path, Jubil had to think quickly, he just wanted to be rid of her.
Jubil just kept feeling panic as he bounded. He didn't understand why, it was just a girl. A smart girl who looked like she loved to chase and kill. He let out a noise that sounded slightly like a panther's cry but also like a person being bludgeoned to death. He also didn't know when he started making these frightening noises.
In a flash he made a decision. His teeth were out as he slammed in to the girl. His mouth encased her right shoulder. He could feel his teeth sink in through the fabric and flesh. It felt like biting in to jello with his sharp jagged teeth. This girl was much more fattie and soft than the panther he had just taken down. If this wasn't a clear enough message to get away from him then he would have to resort to keep running and even possibly transform. He wrenched out of her, his teeth taking away bits of flesh and fat. Jubil attempted to jump to another tree or go higher up.

Secernia was prepared as she watched the boy suddenly panic and freak out at seeing her. She loved the initial reaction people had to seeing her power. What was especially fantastic was that her teleporting made no sound whatsoever, it was simply there one minute, there another. No poof, no whoosh, just... there.
Then he made frightening noises, and they honestly just made Secernia laugh a little to herself, but she prepared herself for the impact, knowing exactly what she was going to do to prove to this little boy that there were scarier things than her out there.
Well, she could have just taken him to Kikime to work that out, but no. She wanted this one herself.
Whenever Jubil hit into her, he bit down hard on her shoulder, and Secernia made a sound of which the emotion was hard to discern. Was she happy, was she angry? Who knew.
When Jubil would let go with his teeth, he would find that they had teleported together. They were in a room with blue sigils on the walls which glowed. Around them was a pit filled with spikes, and a small bridge without any bars on the side leading to a sort of stadium surrounding, with many seats, like a gladiator ring.
"You... brat..." She said softly, looking into his eyes with such false kindness it would make a good man sick.

Her eyes sent shivers down Jubil's back, not the good ones that make a person's tummy sparkle, but the kind that made him break out in a cold sweat. He hissed at her baring his teeth stained in her blood. He knew where she had taken them, away from the wilderness, away from running and hiding. "You Hag" was his response to her. His senses sharpened as he quickly scanned to find an exit, he could feel all of the hair on his body stand on end from the fear of her. He could possibly use it to his advantage, transform in to a fear, manifest it. If only he had better hold of his powers. Jubil knew almost nothing of this woman, only that she frightened him, the power that she held, the creature that she held. He bolted in a split second decision, only it was towards her, keeping eye contact till he bolted over her head in a back flip, only to drop off the edge in to the pit of spikes. He let out a frightening sound, but it was a push, the push he needed for his powers to awake. Soon he fell in to the darkness, letting it swallow him up.

"Hag? Me?" She laughed, darkly now. At least I will get to grow old she thought, but didn't say. There was still the opportunity to play nice here, surely. Still a chance to win trust... But Secernia thought it unlikely, and she doubted anyone would come to save him here, even if he actually did have someone who cared about him.
It surprised her when he jumped over her and into the pit, that could at least be said. However, it also entertained her. Endlessly. She actually smiled as he ran towards her, loving a fight. She braced herself and readied the knife as he came towards her, but he didn't get close enough for her to slash, and she was too surprised by him flying over her head. She blinked, then burst into laughter.
She turned to look down into the darkness, to see if she could see his corpse, see the blood on the ancient floors. "Little boy?" she called out, "Are you okay down there?" She suppressed a snicker as best she could. She tilted her head as she looked down, not able to see him down there...
"Little booy~" She sang, aware now that he might have other powers, and that she could easily be a sitting duck, "Come out, come out, wherever you are~" She couldn't help but have a big grin plastered on her face, which kept falling and springing up again nervously, as though her face couldn't decide which mask to wear.

"Oh look, she can't decide what face she wants..." said an older voice, one that the girl might recognize, or believe to be so. The arena was no longer what it once was, it was dark, black in fact, except for the four massive plastic reflector lights in the center of the ring. The lights illuminated a chrome bed. There were no fasteners on the sides, no head or foot boards. There were no covers, just blue sheets.
The side table was chrome, a small tray with sharp shiny objects. A man stood near the bed, his face was covered. Goggles cover his eyes, and dressed in all white, aside from the blue paper mask and the rubber gloves. "Now, Secernia, shall we fix that face of yours", it was not a question. A pair of faceless nurses took her by the arms, one holding a hypodermic needle, pressing it in to the flesh of the girls arm.
He watched what was happening, covered by the shadows, devoured by it. Jubil had never experienced his fears take over another person. "Crazy" he said, but it came out of the doctors none existent mouth.

Secernia heard a voice speak to her and it started out with the sound of her mother, but showed itself to be Daidamus in appearance. Secernia felt a deep knot form in her stomach, a snarl showing on her face. The needle pierced her skin like a fork pierced meat- slight resistance and then a slow and sliding give.
Secernia screamed a cry of horror- not girly but harsh, her voice breaking. Sweat built up in her palms and between her fingers, the back of her neck feeling sticky. She realized she wasn't restrained and faught to pull herself upright, but even though there was really no injection, her brain made her believe so, and she fell back against the bed and started to laugh.
She laughed endlessly, finding that the injection she imagined didn't make her sleep at all, just made her immobile.
"Cut me." She asked the faceless surgeon, "Cut me, take my blood, rearrange my face, It'll be hilarious. Take away my features, make me a demon just like you." She grinned, "I've felt it before-- having no mouth tastes like- like blood and cotton!" She laughed as though that was the punchline. She grinned wildly, sweat dripping down her, her eyes opened wide, eager to see how this progressed. "I want to be you..." She said, her heart beating quickly. She was terrified.
She felt her heart falter, and cried out again. The faceless surgeon approached with his tools. There was a glow from Secernia's chest, and she coughed a bit of blood. "Daidamus..." She whispered, "Doesn't like little boys who play with his puppets..." Blinking was becoming more difficult, her lips were growing chapped, her voice breaking, fluctuating in volume as she said the words. "He knows everything..."

Jubil felt an itching that clawed up from his back. Like something was trying to free its self from Jubl. He watched the girl start throwing up blood and he knew something was coming. The shadow inside him made him feel it. Just as it made him distrust the girl.
He let out a low growl and the darkness of the Nightmare turned to smoke around them. And was quickly absorbed by Jubil's small body. He sucked the shadows up through his mouth. Causing his insides to turn black. The boy was on the other end of the platform. Staring at the cunvusing girl. Not completely sure who would come out. or if she would just die.
Jubil watched for a moment, his eyes glowing red, his breath consisted of wisps of shadow. 'it will be a demon' said the same voice in his head. It was the same voice Jubil had been afraid of his whole life. The voice of the thing that will take him over. Body and soul.

Secernia felt her heart stop, start again, beat erratically. She screamed again, the same horrified scream as before, falling on her knees. The nightmare had been broken but it seemed that Daidamus had made up his mind. Her lips lost their colour, became chapped and broken and sealed together, though she continued to scream as long as she could, occasionally the screams breaking into laughter.
Then the sounds stopped as he vocal chords stopped operation. She tried to keep her eyes open, staring at the boy, a sort of glee present on what was left of her face. Her eyelashes seemed to act like a zip, pulled together and locking her eyes shut. Then, the seperation between her eyelids vanished and they formed one solid piece of flesh. Her irises flashed a strong gold which illuminated through the skin. The outline of a key could be dimly made out on her chest as well.
Her nostrils flared, her ears twitched. The golden circles that shone from her skin-covered eyes stared at Jubil. Calmly, steadily, the shell of Secernia walked over to Jubil without in real intent to harm, and went to touch his forehead.
There was a sound of sizzling meat whenever their skin touched. Daidamus was not allowed access to the boy's mind. Without qualm, the demon lifted his hand from the boy's flesh and held up the burn mark on his fingertips, black and smoking, red and peeling. Daidamus was letting him know what was inside him. When Secernia came to and saw the wound, she too would be smart enough to figure out what would have burned a demon's flesh.
He took two steps back from Jubil, lifted his head as though to look around the underground arena with spike pits and no doors, and teleported out. He planned on enjoying the sunlight of the island and relaxing on the beach until Secernia wanted her body back. He had no intention to battle with an angelic catalyst.

Jubil watched as the girl transformed. When he saw the glowing dots behind her eye lids he had a really strong feeling to smite her. But when the creature came to touch jubil. he heard and smelt the fry of flesh. Like burning bacon...but rotted.
Jubil let out a low growl but the creature took a few steps back and diapered. This made Jubil blink in confusion. It just left...no fight no nothing...just poof. The shadows quickly dissipated from Jubil, but left his body scarred once more. His teeth were longer and his eyes were no longer rust colored but blood red. His fingernails had hardened in to lethal claws.
He let out a sigh and looked around. There were 'no exits...only down in spikes or to claw your way through.' He thought for a long moment. He turned to where he was facing the stands and then took a running leap. Just missing the pit of spikes. He dug his newly formed claws in to the stone and pulled his way up. 'now where is an exit...' he thought to him self. He would be there for a while...
