(After Hospitalis)
Creda Shields had told Viaris and Kekise that she had been going to aid Khorwah in the situation with Grelix in Dorm 3. Especially considering the Greek's powerful set of abilities.
Creda Shields had instead pulled up short and entered her own dormitory. Dormitory 4.
Hardly any of her time was spent in here. She had no roommate (Praise God.) and the majority of her free time was spent either honing her skills or in the nearby chapel. Thus, apart from a few religious symbols, the room was near spotless. Her bedroom included, having taken care to wash, dry and fold every single piece of bed linen necessary. A rosary hung from the nearby cupboard and a Bible sat on her bedside table and that was all Creda had in her room.
The only other item, she was picking up to use now. She had one number highlighted in her favourites. Holding the phone up, she clicked it and pressed it to her ear.
Ring Ring. Ring Ring. Ring Ri-
"Creda! Long time no hear, how's it going?"
She, despite the situation, smiled serenely. Her normally fierce eyes relaxed, her shoulders slumped a little and she felt completely and utterly at ease, despite her back feeling like it was dipped in acid. How good it was, to hear His voice again after so long. Devotion could truly overcome the body.
"Hello, my guardian..." she breathed, before blushing a little at the chuckle that came from the other end of the line.
Told you before, Shields. Just call me Cody, yeah? What's the sitch?
She serioused up, recalling everything. How she was attacked. How she ended up in Hospital. What Secernia was doing now. Everything would be relayed to her guardian. Nothing could be left unturned and unreported. Eventually...
...well shit. You've been through the ringer and gotten a busted up back and pride. Can't be having that in my new world, can I?
"I'm sorry..."
We'll sort it out, don't you worry. First things first are these...girls he snorted, obviously filled with disdain. Are obviously causing you a problem. I thought I could have a little more faith, but I obviously overestimated your abilities. I'm sorry about that, Creda.
The words stung, despite his apologies and insistence it was his fault. He was such a kind hearted guardian. Fate had truly blessed her with Him.
Nevertheless, thanks. I'm ridiculously busy at the moment. That PCG group I've been tracking has given me the slip again so my plans have been diverted again. Sorry kiddo, but your plan at the moment sounds like the best one.
She agreed. The PCG group took priority. They had been disguising themselves as nurseries, orphanages, hospitals, even as the police and church! The last one made Creda sick to her stomach, how they had continued to protest their innocence despite the damning evidence right there in front of them.
They were to be eliminated from their New World. To give all Gifted a second chance.
Listen to me though, don't go ahead and trust these other guys just yet. What did you say their names were? Jacob and Gabrielle?
She explained Gabrielle was a potential recruit and to her joy, her guardian agreed. She had expected a little fight from Him, but He had surprised her once again. Clearly, she had much to learn.
She sounds pretty cool, yeah. Especially if her ideals are like our own. Don't let your guard down though. A Shield never can, right?
Right.
Jacob...I would stay away from after this is over. He seems a bit too dangerous to be kept near our plans. Plus, he may misunderstand our intentions.
She understood. Khorwah was to be avoided.
And the last kid's name?
She told him. There was a pause at the end of the line.
Find out as much as you can about him. try to be his friend or whatever, just do what it takes to keep him close and get on his good side. You understand me Creda? I want to know EVERYTHING about this Rust Kekise.
"My Guar...Cody? If I can ask...why am I to do this? I know your names are similar but..."
Let's just say...we're related.
The phoneline went dead.
Creda was alone in her dorm. Until...
